Jared Leto and his band 30 Seconds to Mars recently came face to face with an explosive threat due to a man who panicked a crowd with a mysterious box. Fans at a West Hollywood appearance by the band say that the man rushed the door of the building with a package in his hands. He called out Jared by name and then said something about having explosives. A member of the band and security tackled the guy until police came and arrested him. LAPD cleared Melrose Avenue to check the box and the suspect’s car. There was no bomb in the box though, just candy and a blender. The man is in custody and police say that the guy is mentally unstable.
Ne-Yo is supporting ‘Respect!’, a non-profit organization aimed at ending domestic abuse and promoting respect in relationships. The R&B singer is donating the proceeds from his new single ‘Heroes’ to the cause and made an example of the most recent public abuse case between Rihanna and Chris Brown. Ne-Yo said “What happened between Chris Brown and Rihanna was unacceptable, and we need to all work together and make sure it never happens again, to anyone.” Preach man because you are damn right about that! If we all just learn to respect each other a little bit more, these things could be prevented from happening.
It seems the rapper has big plans for the American Idol contestant. Either out of boredom or other interests, T-Pain has really got it into his head that he absolutely must collaborate with Carrie Underwood. This is what he said on the matter: “Next on my list is Carrie Underwood. I swear to God. Everybody else can suck it until I get to Carrie Underwood.” With that kind of attitude T-Pain is bound to scare Carrie Underwood off. He might want to mellow down… if he keeps it up, he might scare her so much that he may find himself with a puck between his teeth one day. Hockey players are after all pretty temperamental and they wield some pretty dangerous instruments.

I’m not sure exactly what will be going down, I don’t know who’s going to be there and I’m not entirely sure what it’s even really called. However, 10-10-10 actually works for me. It’s recently been reported that something big will be happening in music on October 10th, 2010. The event is said to be so epic that it will appear on all three major music networks, MTV, VH1 and CMT. The only hint that sources have given is that the event will be “highlighting the top artists of the decade as selected by the viewer”. That could be anything! It could be a tribute concert, an awards show or even just a countdown. I wonder what it really is.
It seems that Lindsay Lohan’s life has not been in vain. She may not have succeeded in music, or acting or stealing fashion ideas, but there is one thing she has managed to do better than anyone else: Lindsay Lohan has managed to fill her home with expensive junk. This is what the avid collector said about her work: “It’s kind of a sore subject. I just need to get rid of stuff. That’s personal stuff that I have to, you know, work on.” Why would Lindsay Lohan want to sell her stuff? Surely she could find a better way to amass the great sums of money needed for the upkeep. It would spell the end of her professional life as we know it.
It seems that Michael Jackson’s sister is really set on having Dr. Conrad Murray, her brother’s physician, pay for all that he has done. It seems La Toya Jackson would have the good doctor charged with more than just involuntary manslaughter, as she herself stated: “He should have been charged with premeditated.” If we weren’t in the 21st century you could just see La Toya Jackson going “Off with his head!”
Beyonce reportedly used the Grammys to line up a collaboration with band Kings Of Leon.
The 28-year-old star became the Queen of the Grammys after picking up six awards at the bash.
It is claimed she spoke to US rock band Kings Of Leon about a possible collaboration while celebrating her wins.
A source said: “Beyonce looked stunning and was chatting to virtually every major star on hand.
“She kissed Kings of Leon on their cheeks and congratulated them on winning an award for Use Somebody.
“They were chatting for ages.
“She knows how huge they are in the UK and loves their album. She was scouting for people to collaborate with and has been talking about doing something different with a rock band. Kings of Leon would be perfect.”
It seems that Amy Winehouse’s manager is trying to set her on the path of righteousness and he has found a very interesting way of doing so. Amy Winehouse’s manager has recently bought her a painting that depicts her as a housewife. This is what he said about the present: “She absolutely loves it. It takes pride of place in her home.” It’s probably right up there with her first bottle of Jack and other collectible memorabilia. Those things will be great for an auction if Amy Winehouse is ever in need of generating some funds. Hopefully it won’t scare Blake Fielder-Civil away.

The master of them all recently shared with the rest of the world what it is that actually makes him get his mojo. This is what Simon Cowell said on the matter: “I don’t like the idea that other people in this business might be doing better than me. That really bugs me – I mean really bugs me. If you are happy to see someone who does the same thing as you do well – even someone within your own company – then you haven’t got it, it’s as simple as that.” So Simon Cowell is one of those “your loss is my gain” type of guys… no surprise there, is it? And just think, Simon Cowell will soon be opening a US branch for his famous talent agency, “The X Factor”… the boys at American Idol are sure going to have their hands full after that, aren’t they?
Recently engaged Katy Perry revealed that she found out that her fiancé Russell Brand was going to propose to her via Google. The 25-year old singer said on the red carpet of the 2010 Grammy Awards EMI Party at the W Hollywood Hotel and Residences “Unfortunately, I still Google myself sometimes. I saw it on Google alerts. I’m going to be honest!” At least she was a good sport and didn’t let that ruin her and Russell’s fun. After the Grammys, Katy went on her Twitter and said “tonight was lovely, don’t think I’ll be sleepin on 2010, it’s time to show them aces eh! Goodnight everyone ”
Music producer Rodney Jerkins thinks that combining the amazing talents of Lady Gaga with the so-called talents – or lack thereof – of Lindsay Lohan could make for an amazing collaboration. But perhaps the first major step before he starts thinking about getting the singer and the freak together is getting Lindsay to get her own act together. Thankfully enough, Rodney agrees to that. He said “If she stays focused, I think she has what it takes. I’ve talked to her, and I said, ‘You’ve got what it takes. I really believe in you.’” He’s got to be the first person, if not the only one, to say that to Lindsay.
Michael Jackson’s estate needs young, talented, self-motivating people who didn’t pay much attention to the news back in 2004-2005. Lawyers for the King of Pop’s estate have recently filed legal documents asking the probate judge for permission to hire people to run the late singer’s business. Specifically, the estate is looking to hire co-executive and creative directors. According to the documents, “With the proper executive and creative management and leadership, the opportunity exists for the MJJ Business to become one of the most profitable companies in the music industry.” So who needs a job and is willing to wait for a judge to settle all these creditor’s claims before getting paid?
Sources claimed that Kings of Leon had left Columbia Records for Warner Brothers and that the band’s new deal involves them paying half of the recording costs in exchange for more control of their music and greater profit. However, the band says that they are loyal to their label and that the switch is simply untrue. The members of the band released a statement saying “Consider the source. Kings of Leon have always had and continue to have a great relationship with their label.” Good for them. However, that would have been such a great deal if it was true.
Many celebrities have joined the fight to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake, including music mogul Simon Cowell. The snarky American Idol judge is collaborating with The Sun to record a charity single for the newspaper’s Helping Haiti campaign. He has even negotiated a deal with Prime Minster Brown to waive the tax for the sales of the track. Beyonce, Robbie Williams, Lady Gaga and Wyclef Jean are already on board to help the cause and Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis are rumored to be part of it as well. I can’t wait to hear what all those musical geniuses would come up with.
When your dad is best friends with the best in the music business, you know that your guest list is going to be insane. Diddy threw his eldest son Justin a 16th birthday bash that got filmed for MTV’s ‘My Super Sweet 16’ this past Saturday. The guest list included the likes of Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, Lil Kim, and boxer Floyd Mayweather. The club was decorated with images from the New York skyline and Diddy performed with his band to entertain the crowd as well as other performances from some big names. His dad may be spoiling him rotten but Diddy and Justin’s hearts are in the right place. Instead of gifts, they asked that guests make a donation to the Haiti fund.
In the end, the singer will be the one most qualified to hand out the actual results of all of this round-about. It seems that after being accused of violence and being absolved of the accusations, Rihanna’s new boyfriend, Matt Kemp, is again under the watchful public eye. Even though his former girlfriend says that the restraining order filled against him wasn’t serious, her lawyer has something else to say on the matter: “The matter was quietly resolved until Mr. Kemp’s agent began making false public statements.” Rihanna sure knows how to pick them, doesn’t she? But there is some progress: at least Matt Kemp managed to keep his mishaps under wraps. Rihanna will eventually get it right.
The members of the British band recently stated that they feel flattered when their old songs are used in movies. This is what MC Robert Del Naja from Massive Attack said on the matter: “I know, you find it in all the darkest and most disturbing documentaries, anything that is pretty miserable, it keeps popping up – and it’s the opposite of how we started out, but if the idea is that this expresses authenticity, that this is the way things really are, then it is flattering.” What Massive Attack really need to be asking themselves is how come it’s the old songs that are being used and not the new ones. Some might see a wee problem in there somewhere.
Brad Pitt and Robert Pattinson will also be joining the two-hour Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief telethon that begins at 8PM ET tonight. The 46-year old ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ actor and 23-year old ‘Twilight’ hunk will be joining the ranks of Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and many other stars. The event is actually a collaboration between George Clooney and MTV Networks and will air on several channels. Beyonce, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bono and Madonna are just some of the singers who have been confirmed to be performing during the special. Tune in to the telethon and give what you can to help save a life.

Rihanna performed a cover of Bob Marley’s ‘Redemption Song’ on Oprah this past Wednesday. The whole show was done for the benefit of the victims of the Haiti earthquake. The song is currently available on iTunes and all proceeds made in the sale of the song will help all of the victims of the unfortunate tragedy. Rihanna will be performing the song again from London later tonight on the Hope for Haiti telethon. Again, I urge all of you reading this to give what you can for our neighbors in Haiti. However little you may give may end up actually saving a life.
Producer Swizz Beatz got in contact with both Jay-Z and Bono to record a charity single for Haiti and the earthquake relief effort. U2’s guitarist The Edge talked more about the project saying “Last night we wrote a song. Bono got a call from a producer, Swizz. He and Jay-Z wanted to do something for Haiti. So, Bono came up with the phrase on the phone, and last night we were here, we wrote a song – finished, recorded and send (sic) back to them. So, that might be the next thing you hear from us!” I can’t wait to hear it.
