The nominees for the 2007 American Music Awards have been announced at The Beverly Hills Hotel on Tuesday. On hand for the announcement were Ashanti and pop rock group, Jonas Brothers.

Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the 35th anniversary of the popular awards show. It will be his fourth time doing so. But coming at us for the first time is that winners of the AMA will be determined by online voting at ama.abc.com.

Leading the pack with three nods each are Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Linkin Park and Daughtry. The AMAs will take place on November 18th and will be held at the Nokia Theater in LA.

Kylie Minogue is no stranger to fashion. But for whatever reason, it seems like fashion is taking a backseat for the songstress.

Kylie showed up for the Q Awards in London on Monday but the usually flawless Aussie singer looked more like Aussie actress Nicole Kidman. Honestly, it’s not a good thing. Kid Rock has one regret about his fight with Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards last month – he wishes he’d punched the Motley Crue star a few more times. I won’t support this man’s brand of stupidity, what a LOSER. Kid rock need to shut up his album going go flat regardless. This is the only publicity he is getting the story is getting old. But guys doesn’t this highlight the fact that most of our artist feel the need to cook up some controversy just before their albums hit the market so as to generate some interest in their albums. This shows that there exist an attitude where the artist things he has do something to be in the news/stoplight so the fans keep talking about them and somehow those gossips turn into album sales for them and business is good keeping them alive in the business, all wrecked up stuff – forgetful tactics.

Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested Saturday morning in Boise, Idaho for felony charges of being a fugitive. A felony warrant out of Fulton County, Georgia for a felony possession of drugs was out for the rapper. Georgia authorities contacted Idaho police and gave them the heads up. He was arrested immediately following his concert Friday night at Qwest Arena.

Cops say that he was cooperative and is now in protective custody pending an arraignment and extradition hearing. Wayne was previously arrested in July with a gun charge in New York and in 2006 with a drug possession charge in Atlanta.

Avril Lavigne just released another hot new music video. Ironically, it’s for a song that’s appropriately titled ‘Hot’.

The video has a 1920 burlesque theme which was shot at the Beacon, Jersey City last month. It’s quite interesting to see a ‘punk’ dress up as a cabaret girl of some sort. Christina Aguilera never had much trouble. But then again, Christina has always been more believable and tolerable than Avril. There have been rumors circulating that Gioia Bruno of Exposé fame is secretly meeting with executives to replace Paula Abdul the upcoming season on American Idol. The talk has been growing, as Gioia, a music industry veteran who once lost her voice due to a benign tumor, has been visiting Los Angeles quite frequently and meeting with many powerful entertainment industry moguls. Some fans of Exposé have also been chattering about there being an Exposé night on American Idol this coming season as well.

Several of Gioia’s friends are saying that she has been talking a lot about how she would love to replace Abdul on the hit show. Recently, Gioia was heard by extras on the set of her latest music video for “Your Love is Lifting Me” (Higher and Higher)” saying, “I can do Paula’s job. I am going to be a great judge!”

The switch does make a lot of sense, while Abdul has slipped up time and time again, Gioia Bruno as a replacement would be an easy transition for viewers and fans. Both are pop stars from the eighties, both are brunettes, both have a slew of hits under their belts and they are quite often mistaken for one another in public.

Gioia’s publicist, Jim Strzalkowski, has confirmed that there is discussion with execs but declined to comment specifically about Gioia Bruno moving into Paula’s seat as well as an Exposé night on American Idol. However he did say, “It would be great to see Gioia on American Idol. She has a rich history, is an incredible performer and has a truly amazing voice.”

The Spice Girls have added two extra nights to the London leg of their world tour after tickets sold out in 38 seconds. Thirty eight seconds, this is faster than the movie title with Gone in Sixty Seconds, wow that is amazing. Could you guys just believe that all tickets are sold out in a blink of the eyes? These girls have been out and done with for nearly 7-8 years now and they too wouldn’t have expected this kind of response that they are received from their fans. Why the hell did the spice girls come back 4? They look out off DATE….. I can’t believe people still likes them and buy there tickets its all wrong they r old and out off date. But that’s what makes the music industry survive and strive, yesteryears stars are born over and over again, fans just do not forget their favorite singers and bands and never leave the opportunity to see them perform live. Spice Girls would be delighted with the response and this response should egg them on to give their best wherever they go during their world tour.

Beyonce Knowles’ upcoming concert in Malaysia has been canceled, reportedly after the R&B superstar refused to tone down her stage show in order to perform. You go Beyonce! I agree with her. You either like an artist for who they are or you don’t. If you got to change yourself to perform for people who claim beforehand those they like the way you are, forget it. Beyonce is so much better than that. She has better things to worry about, like herself and her successful career. There are a 100 other countries to perform too where she doesn’t have to change. Beyonce rocks and thank god she has a brain and doesn’t change for everyone else. It’s a matter of being respectful, she is going to another country, with their rules, just follow and get over it, think of all the disappointed fans (the ones makes this all possible). It’s only clothing, everybody knows what you look like underneath all that clothes anyway.
