Chris Martin’s ghostly influence

Posted by Sam on 12th June 2008 in Album Release, Chris Martin, Coldplay

Chris Martin says the new Coldplay album was influenced by ghosts. The 31-year-old front man – whose group release ‘Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends’ tomorrow – had a spooky encounter while recording their fourth LP.

He said: “I have had one experience in Wales. I woke up and there was this sort of hot air moving around the end of the bed. And it wasn’t Jonny Buckland breaking wind!”

Chris – who is married to Hollywood beauty Gwyneth Paltrow – has a fascination with the supernatural and the part they play in people’s destiny.

He added: “Ghosts are supposed to be people who haven’t found their final place, right? And we just thought it would be funny to spend your whole life trying to get to heaven and then you get to the gates and they say, ‘You didn’t quite make it.’ And that kept popping up in my head, the idea of not being on the guest list.”

Father-of-two Chris isn’t the only rocker to have claimed he has seen a ghost.

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher believes he saw the apparition of his idol late Beatle John Lennon, while Sir Paul McCartney also claims his former bandmate Lennon appeared to him as a peacock.

Janet Jackson Gets Spicy

Posted by Sam on 7th June 2008 in Album Release, Janet Jackson, Mel B, Records Sale, Spice Girls

Mel B, more famously known as Scary Spice, has revealed that she will be performing a duet with Janet Jackson on her upcoming solo album. With the help of Janet, Mel hopes to conquer the UK singles chart following her previous failed attempts. Her last single ‘Today’ didn’t even make it to the UK singles top 40. Scary says “I’m not scared of having another try. I am working with the best producers ever. I am now ten tracks in to my new record.” I’m just hoping that her collaboration with Janet doesn’t sound anything like whatever’s on Janet’s album because we all know how that turned out.

Toni Braxton Quits Vegas

Posted by Sam on 1st June 2008 in Las Vegas, Performance, Singers, Toni Braxton

Toni Braxton went to the hospital in early April due to some health issues which put a then temporary damper on her string of shows in Vegas. Now, the singer’s chest pains have put a definite end to it. Toni has decided to not continue with her Vegas show so she can focus on getting back to 100% health. The show ‘Toni Braxton: Revealed’ has been playing at the Flamingo for two years and was only put on hold during her hospitalization. I hope Toni gets better soon and it’s not like the pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the heart, that she was treated for in the past.
