New Video From Plain White T’s

Posted by Sam on 30th September 2008 in Album Release, Music Video, Plain White T’s

The guys in Plain White T’s have learned a bit about life since “Hey There Delilah” and that’s no more evident than in the new video for the infectious single, “Natural Disaster”. No longer is the band wallowing after long gone college sweethearts; this time they’re the ones with the upper hand as they swagger into the club and can have their pick of any girl who crosses their path. Is Delilah is the one who’s jealous now?

New video and iTunes single from Metallica

Posted by Sam on 25th September 2008 in Metallica, New Single

Metallica have just premiered the video for their single “The Day That Never Comes” on their MySpace page. The epic clip was directed by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg and filmed this past July in southern California. On working with the acclaimed filmmaker, Hetfield explained to MTV, “That’s the beauty, I think, of writing vague but powerful lyrics — that someone like a movie director can interpret it in his own way and obviously, someone creative is able to take the metaphors and apply them to whatever he needs in his own life.”

The band have also just unveiled another song from their upcoming album Death Magnetic. The hard-charging track, “Cyanide” is now available for sale on iTunes.

New Plain White Ts

Posted by Sam on 23rd September 2008 in New Single, Plain White T’s

The Plain White T’s are back with a new single called ‘1, 2, 3, 4’. In addition to naming their song like that, it also sounds like something that Feist would do. The new single is very similar to the band’s monster single ‘Hey There Delilah’ which is again, not a bad thing. That song was massive! The new song should do quite well at radio. It’s a pretty love song that’s catchy and clever. You can hardly go wrong with something pretty, catchy and pop. Just ask the Jonas Brothers. It’s pretty much the story of their music career.

Madonna Gets Crucified

Posted by Sam on 23rd September 2008 in Madonna, WORLD TOUR

Madonna recently had a performance at Wembley Stadium in London, England as part of her Sticky and Sweet Tour. Despite the performance Madonna still got crucified as the 50-year old Queen of Pop started her show 40 minutes late and thus stranded a lot of people who missed the train. Additionally, many speakers in the stadium were apparently not working which had concert-goers storm out in disgust. One person said “I have been a Madonna fan for over 25 years and have gone to all her concerts but the one in London last night was an absolute disgrace.” Let’s hope that Madonna can make it up to her fans somehow.

Oasis Postponed

Posted by Sam on 23rd September 2008 in Concert Gig

The guy who attacked Noel Gallagher may have gotten off easy but he should watch out for Oasis and their Ontario, Canada fans. The band was supposed to play at the John Labatt Centre in London, Ontario on Tuesday night but due to injuries Noel got in last weekend’s attack, the show was postponed. The venue’s website put up a notice about it details what happened during the attack saying “Noel fell heavily on to his monitor speakers when he was pushed suddenly from behind by his attacker and suffered bruising to his ribs and hip. He was examined in a local hospital after the band’s performance and has been advised to rest. Unfortunately, despite resting up yesterday, the extent of his injuries mean he will not be able to perform tonight. The band are very keen to complete their Canadian tour and options for rescheduling the final London, Ontario show are currently being looked into. Ticket holders are asked to retain their tickets until a further announcement is made in a few days.”

New Kanye Album

Posted by Sam on 19th September 2008 in Album Release, Billboard, Kanye West

When you have a massive tour going on, when do you find the time to write new tracks for a new album? Ask Kanye West how he did it because that’s his case. Billboard is reporting that the rapper’s management has confirmed that he’s seriously considering dropping his fourth album by the end of the year. He’s been on tour for a good chunk of the year and has been producing track for Jay-Z’s new album and he still found time to do this. He’s like Wonder Woman – err, man. The name of the album hasn’t been disclosed though but Kanye reportedly intended to name his next album ‘Good Ass Job’ a couple of years back. I wonder if it would stick.

Fashion Rocks Performers Duck for Cover

Posted by Sam on 19th September 2008 in Uncategorized

Some crazy stuff went down at the Fashion Rocks after party at New York’s Rainbow Bar last weekend. According to reports, Justin Timberlake had to dive for cover and dodge punches after his bodyguard tried to grab a mobile phone off a fan who sneaked into the VIP area to snap a picture of the singer. All hell broke loose when the girl’s friends stepped in to help her and glasses flew off tables and shattered everywhere. Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Chris Brown all had to duck for cover as well. The divas were supposedly shrieking in horror as their security teams protected them from the flying debris.

Katy Perry Bound for Success

Posted by Sam on 17th September 2008 in Katy Perry, Music Video

Katy Perry got pretty in pink as she filmed an outdoor scene for her new music video in Los Angeles last week. The ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer is coming out with her next single called ‘Hot N Cold’. The 23-year old sensation was shooting wedding scenes for her video and is hoping to duplicate her success with her last single. Kinga Burza, the director for her first video says “I predict she is going to be massive and wish her all the best. She’s fresh, original, intelligent and talented, with a star-like charisma, which will have boys and girls all around the world cooing for more!”

No Jury to Convict Amy Winehouse

Posted by Sam on 15th September 2008 in Amy Winehouse, Drugs

The concert organizers that recently got stood up by Amy Winehouse are threatening to take legal action because of her no show. The show was scheduled on a Friday night. Organizers say that at 8PM that night, they got word that Wino was sick in England and was unable to make the trip to a city outside Paris for her set. Who’s going to side with the organizers? They were the ones who hired Wino and relied on her to show up. They were the ones to fall for the sick excuse. Everyone pretty much knows to get a refund when they see Wino on the bill because every concertgoer is aware that there’s a bigger chance of her not showing up.

Kylie Minogue has been sold out

Posted by Sam on 12th September 2008 in Concerts Tour, Kylie Minogue

If you really think that the pop queen Kylie Minogue has been sold out, then you are absolutely wrong.

No money on the face of earth can buy a sensational singer like her!

When the concerts are being sold out in the matter of minutes then who on God’s Good Green Earth has the treasures to buy Kylie Minogue.

The larger than life news is that the tickets for the first concert of Kylie Minogue in Australia were sold out within two minutes on the morning of September 8.

The concerts are scheduled to be held on December 14 in Sydney and December 20 in Melbourne.

With not a single ticket available for the above two shows; now the tickets for two new shows have gone on sale. One show has been added to both Sydney and Melbourne.

Britney Spears Gets Some Love

Posted by Sam on 12th September 2008 in Britney Spears

Britney Spears gets some LOVE in Las Vegas as the 26-year old recovering starlet has come to check out a performance of the Beatles-inspired Cirque du Soleil’s LOVE show at the Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada recently. The production celebrates the musical legacy of The Beatles through their timeless records. Who knew that Britney was a Beatles fan? For all you other fans of the band and of Cirque du Soleil, a documentary on the making of LOVE entitled ‘All Together Now’ is scheduled for release this fall so watch out for it. I can bet that it’s going to be as good of a show as the actual performance.

Madonna’s Clothing Tour

Posted by Sam on 10th September 2008 in Madonna, Music Video

A collection of 300 of Madonna’s most memorable outfits are going on display next year in a new exhibition. I am so there! Among many things, the show will feature her ‘Like a Virgin’ tour wedding gown and the pink dress she wore in the ‘Material Girl’ video. The items are in a private collection that belongs to Marquee Capital, a celebrity memorabilia investment company. They’re also expected to auction off the pieces following the show. The curator of the exhibition at the Old Truman Brewery in London said “his is an unprecedented collection of Madonna memorabilia that represents every stage of her glittering career. These are museum-quality pieces but they will be presented in keeping with the glamour and sense of theatre that the Queen of Pop has made her trademark.” The exhibition ‘Simply Madonna, Materials of the Girl’ opens in February.

Coldplay Knits

Posted by Sam on 8th September 2008 in Coldplay, Music Bands

Sex, drugs, rock and roll and… knitting? Coldplay front man Chris Martin recently spoke about the band’s hobby of knitting together for one very odd image in my head. He says “Making clothes together in our studio makes us feel complete. We probably sound like a group of grannies in a knitting circle but it’s the truth and it gives us some control over our visual identity. When you are a big band and everyone is taking shots at you, the more things you can do together the better.” Whatever floats your boat. I don’t think knitting is a way of showing anyone just how strong and manly you are so they stop picking on you.

Big Trouble for Lil Wayne

Posted by Sam on 8th September 2008 in Lil Wayne, Rapper

For someone with the abbreviation of the word little in front of his name, Lil Wayne has been getting into some big trouble recently. The rapper was recently ordered by a Miami judge to pay New Orleans jeweller Jack Sutton the money he was due. Lil Wayne has now recently missed a scheduled court appearance related to his drug charges. Even though he didn’t show up, the judge said that he was not excused from appearing. Lil Wayne’s reps however claim that he only missed the hearing due to an unnamed medical condition. Sure. The rapper is due back in court this October. Surely his medical condition would have let up by then.

Madonna sets Berlin on fire

Posted by Sam on 4th September 2008 in Madonna, WORLD TOUR

Madonna has set yet another city on fire on 28th August 2008. This time it was Berlin and the audience went mad during her performance.

Entertaining the fans at a sold out concert in Berlin during her “Sticky and Sweet” world tour, the show involved eight costume changes, sixteen dancers and $1.85 million worth of Swarovski crystals.

The string of her shows includes her performances in London, Paris and North America, before terminating on 18th December 2008 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Material Girl has also added a medical doctor Steven Margolin on her entourage to keep her relaxed and functional. When asked, an insider told, “It’s (tour) going to be very draining and she needs him around to aid her in her recovery time after each show. She’ll have daily massages to relax her.”
