Janet Jackson Cancels Again

Posted by Sam on 13th October 2008 in Concerts Tour, Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson was set to resume her Rock Withchu concert in Greensboro, North Carolina but again ended up postponing that concert at the last minute. Just an hour and a half before show time, concertgoers already in the venue were told that the show will not go on. At this point, the signer has not performed more concerts than she has on her tour. She’s already postponed concerts in Montreal, Detroit, Boston, Philadelphia and Greensboro. Apparently, she wasn’t feeling well enough to go on with show in Greensboro. A local doctor advised her that she should not perform that night. I hope it’s nothing too serious.

Paul McCartney is a Fireman

Posted by Sam on 11th October 2008 in Album Release, Beatles, New CD DVD, Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney is bringing back his alter ego, Fireman, by collaborating with some producer named Youth. Their new project, a CD called ‘Electric Arguments’ is set to come out on November 17th. Paul and Youth released an ambient dance album called ‘Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest’ back in 1993. The former Beatle’s involvement was initially a secret but later leaked out. They followed that up with another electronic release in 1998. The new offering from Paul and Youth will reportedly feature more traditional song writing, including classic rock and acoustic tracks, “yet is in keeping with the genre-hopping spirit of the first two Fireman albums.”

Kanye is Quick

Posted by Sam on 10th October 2008 in 50 Cent, Album Release, Kanye West

I guess the second coming of the rap show down between 50 Cent and Kanye West won’t be going down after all. Kanye is pushing up the release of his new album from December to November. The rapper recently released a statement on his blog saying “I CHANGED MY ALBUM (release) TO NOVEMBER SOMETHING CAUSE I FINISHED THE ALBUM AND I FELT LIKE IT.. I WANT YALL TO HEAR IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.” No one stands in Kanye’s way, unless of course he was scared that 50 was going to win this time around. I wonder if 50 is going to change his release date too.

The Killers are coming out with a new album on November 25

Posted by Sam on 10th October 2008 in Album Release, The Killers

Brandon Flowers and the boy are back as The Killers are coming out with a new album on November 25. The band has also just dropped the disc’s first single called ‘Human’. The song is produced by Stuart Price, the same guy who did Madonna’s ‘Confessions’ album. The song features The Killers doing what they do best but with a bit more of a danceable beat. It somehow reminds me of Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’ actually. ‘Human’ should prove to do well for the band. I’m sure that radio will just eat that song up!

Mariah will have her posters up in over 36,000 stores owned by Yum which include Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, A&W and Long John Silver’s. The ads and the promotion will be seen in over 112 countries. Aside from asking for donations, Mariah will also be encouraging people to pick up a card at any of the Yum chains which will allow people to download her song ‘Love Story’ via the campaign’s website. For every download, Yum will donate money to help the cause.

Chris Cornell Screams With Timbaland

Posted by Sam on 7th October 2008 in Album Release, Chris Cornell, Timbaland

Throughout his storied career, Chris Cornell has clearly never been an artist that is content sitting in one creative comfort spot for too long. The versatile rocker who became a household name from his success in Soundgarden and Audioslave has teamed up with perhaps the most celebrated producer of this era: Timbaland. Scream is the result of their genre-defying sessions.

Cornell and Timbaland are set to kick off a string of eight live shows on October 17th to support the project. Scream will be performed in its entirety to mimic the experience of listening to the LP from start to finish.

The new album features infectious tracks like “Ground Zero,” “Part of Me,” and the exhilarating title track and lead single, “Scream.” Fans can expect a unique blend of hip-hop and rock from this release that will no doubt venture into new territory for both Cornell and Timbaland.

This week, singer/songwriter P!nk ascends to the number one position on the U.S. singles chart with her smash hit, “So What.” The irresistible rocking single tops Billboard’s “Hot 100 Singles,” “Hot Digital Songs” and “Hot Digital Tracks” charts, and is the number one radio airplay gainer for four weeks in a row, making it one of the top 10 most played songs at CHR radio stations. The David Meyers directed video is currently in rotation on VH-1, Fuse, Music Choice, and is one of the top ten videos on MTV.

“So What” was co-written by P!nk and produced by collaborator Max Martin, who worked with her on “Who Knew” and ”U + Ur Hand.” The New York Times describes the first single from her forthcoming album, Funhouse, as “guitar-charged and aggressively bouncy.” Funhouse is her fifth studio effort and is slated for release on October 28th.

Jonas Brothers Get the Love Bug

Posted by Sam on 6th October 2008 in Disney, Jonas Brothers, Music Video, New Single

The Jonas Brothers have reportedly filmed scenes for their new Disney Channel TV show in Los Angeles recently. Too bad that was false. The band of brothers was actually filming their new ‘Lovebug’ music video. The video is for the second official single off of their third studio album ‘A Little Bit Longer’. The Jonas Brothers were spotted entering their trailer for a quick costume change. To keep the production details under wraps, production assistants covered the brothers with umbrellas and blankets as they travelled from their trailer to the music video set. What the heck is so top secret about a music video?
