Matt Giraud finally got the boot from American Idol last night. That means that Allison Iraheta is still surviving amongst the guys! What’s even more surprising is that she wasn’t even on the bottom three. Don’t get me wrong, I really love her on the show but if you base it on the voting pattern, she could have easily been predicted as the one to go home. The jaw-dropping moment of the night was when Adam Lambert’s name got called as the final member of the bottom three. Ryan Seacrest did the famed splitting into groups with the last Idol to choose which group he thinks he belongs to. It was Kris and Matt on one side with Allison and Danny Gokey on the other. Adam picked Allison and Danny and that’s when Ryan dropped the bomb. Though I’m not the biggest Adam fan, Matt really ran his time out on the show.
Aerosmith has recently announced plans to play a free concert for 8300 fans in Maui. But this is not exactly a handout because those fans were the ones that got burned after the band cancelled a 2007 show that didn’t give any refunds. Aerosmith cancelled the show after they got tapped to perform for some big wig executive. The angered fans tried to sue the group for lost costs but it seems that all will be forgiven if the concert, which is scheduled to take place in the fall after Aerosmith’s North American tour, takes place this time. Here’s to hoping no corporate luncheon happens at the same date.
Allison Iraheta is the last woman standing on American Idol. How much longer can she stand amongst the boys? Despite winning accolades for her voice and a stage maturity beyond her years, the 16-year old may be a long shot to reach the final based on the voting patterns. She clearly has the star potential so what’s gotten her on the bottom three more than any of her rivals? Maybe it’s just her being an awkward and goofy teenager when she’s not singing. It goes without saying that the show has really turned into something more of a popularity contest rather than a talent show. Allison may be leagues better than some of the guys but those guys bring the popularity factor several times that of Allison’s.
Rihanna lost more than just her dignity the night that she was allegedly beat up by Chris Brown. She apparently also lost $1.4 million in jewellery. The Barbadian babe is asking the cops to hand back a pair of earrings and three rings that they logged as evidence on the night in question. The bling isn’t even hers as they belong to four companies which loaned it to her for the pre-Grammy party she attended with Chris the night of the altercation. Rihanna’s attorney claims that he has asked for them back and submitted written requests for it. Chris’ attorney is also said to have no problems with having the jewellery released.
Justin Timberlake made a very public display of affection with his girlfriend Jessica Biel during a basketball game last week. The singer explained himself when he stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live saying “I have to clarify that one. We’re not that much of exhibitionists in front of 18,000 people. They do the ‘kiss me’ cam, and they were playing Sonny and Cher’s ‘I Got You Babe,’ and we were watching all these kind of elderly people kiss, and it got kind of weird there for awhile, I’m not gonna lie; but it was endearing. And then they cut to Dustin Hoffman and his wife, and he planted an open-mouth kiss on her and it was kind of award-winning in its own way. And then they cut to us and I was not to be outdone. So, yeah. So I mounted my girlfriend in front of 18,000 people.”

GREEN DAY LAUNCH FIRST NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN OVER THREE YEARS!
MULTI-PLATINUM BAND HIT THE ROAD IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM, 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN, TO BE RELEASED WORLDWIDE ON FRIDAY, MAY 15TH, 2009
April 20, 2009 — Burbank, CA — Reprise Records’ Grammy®Award winning rock band Green Day have announced that they will hit the road for their first proper tour of the United States and Canada in more than three years beginning July 3rd in Seattle, WA. The first leg of the tour will cross North America through the summer and finish up with two shows in Los Angeles on August 26th.
Green Day are touring in support of their long-awaited eighth studio album 21st Century Breakdown, which will be released globally by Reprise Records on Friday, May 15th, 2009. Singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool have been at work writing, arranging, and recording 21st Century Breakdown since early 2006 with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). The first single, “Know Your Enemy” was released to radio and digital retailers on April 16th.
Green Day recently performed 21st Century Breakdown in its entirety during a series of warm-up club shows for hometown fans in the Bay Area. In its review of a show at Oakland’s Fox Theater, Rolling Stone commented that the band, augmented by guitarists Jason White and Jeff Matika, and keyboardist Jason Freese, had the “Quadrophenia-like hang of 21st Century Breakdown’s classic rock melodies and lifetime-punk drive down solid” and that the album is “rock opera in which the rock always comes first.” “21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s best album,” the reviewer concluded, “and at the Fox, they proved that the rock opera can be as punk as a Clash 45.”
21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s first studio album since 2004’s two-time Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera American Idiot, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, and went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide.

Simon Cowell has said he’s "so gorgeous", women can’t help falling in love with him, his ex-girlfriend Sinitta has said.
The 49-year-old judge reportedly made the claim that women watching him on his show Britain’s Got Talent couldn’t help but fall for him because he looks "gorgeous".
Sinitta said: "Simon told me he looks so gorgeous that no woman is safe from falling in love with him. He said: ‘Darling, I’d watch it with one eye closed.’"
She added to British newspaper The Sun: "He’s never short of a date but he works incredibly hard. It’s difficult to make a connection."
The third series of the British show kicks off soon and is said to feature one act who are high-kicking ninjas.
Beatles fans can be brutal – at least the ones who like Paul McCartney. It’s been reported that three people were detained at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas recently after they allegedly stole boxes of hotel magazines with Sir Paul on the cover, touting the re-opening of The Joint’s new venue which the rocker christened on Sunday. The funny part of the story is that the alleged thieves are in their 50s. Who knew that the older fans still have some bad in them? I bet that thievery proved to be the biggest rush of their life in a long while.
While Tuesday night’s performance show of American Idol brought about the largest amount of creativity amongst the contestants, disco night did very little in holding some people’s interests. Hit and miss disco night scored 23.2 million viewers, per preliminary Nielsen data. It was enough to thoroughly dominate the Tuesday competition but it’s actually down by around 1 million sets of eyes and ears from last week’s performance show. And that says a lot considering last week’s night at the movies was really disappointing in my opinion. They probably just hated the fact that Matt Giraud got saved. Things just get boring without that thrill of the one-time save hanging in the air.
It’s being reported that the reason why Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz smacked a fan in the face at a German gas station last week was for self-defense. The fan who stubbed out her cigarette onto the musician’s car belongs to a French girl gang named Les Afghanes on Tour. The gang has taken it upon themselves for the past six months to stalk and harass the band and their family members. The band’s manager David Jost has confirmed the charges Tokio Hotel has brought against the gang saying “One of the hooded stalker girls attacked a family member of Bill and Tom on the April 8th. We put in charges the following day against the girl and now another complaint.”
Kelly Clarkson’s new music video for her single ‘I Do Not Hook Up’ has made its way out onto the internet. The song is the second single off of the original American Idol’s latest album ‘All I Ever Wanted’. The song was written by Greg Wells, Katy Perry and Kara DioGuardi. The 26-year old singer talked about the video in her blog saying “It’s hilarious! Watching me crawl across a table attempting to be sexy in a fantasy is pretty funny to say the least I hope y’all like it. Bryan Barber directed it and this was our second time to work together.”
Fall Out Boy has been banned from performing in Boca Raton, Florida. The city of the rich and old proclaimed in a statement last week that “There have been known disturbances associated with one of the bands, ‘Fall Out Boy.’ We anticipate that the concert will generate security challenges.” The band’s manager is calling BS on the “disturbances associated” with the group though, saying “I’m not sure what these ‘challenges’ are that they are speaking of… The town said that if we tried to keep the show on we would have to pay an extraordinary amount of money in extra costs.” The concert at Mizner Amphitheater has since been relocated to the Pompano Beach Amphiteater for the same night.
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ sensation Susan Boyle has been tearing up the internet with her unbelievable performance of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from ‘Les Miserables’. The unassuming 47-year old woman completely surprised the judges once she belted out her enormous and angelic voice. It’s not an easy thing to surprise those judges considering that Simon Cowell is on that panel. Susan went on to say that she’s never been kissed, never been married and lives with her cat. Her answers were initially met with sneers but she wowed the crowd once she started singing. She is utterly amazing. I hope she wins that contest.
Reports are coming out that Bruce Springsteen really didn’t cheat on his wife with that Ann Kelly woman. Friends close to the rock star are saying that Ann is obsessed with Bruce. One of Bruce’s friends said “The wife pestered Bruce, but he didn’t have an affair with her. He’s freaked out that he was named in her divorce because he barely knows her. She seemed almost obsessed with Bruce… I think Bruce was scared of her.” The question I’m left to ask is why would Kelly’s soon-to-be ex-husband bother to mention Bruce’s name in the divorce papers? The source said “This is a classic case of someone taking advantage of Bruce just because he’s famous.” The only way for people to believe this is if it wasn’t widely known that Bruce was a serial cheater.
