Fantasia’s Reality

Posted by Sam on 20th April 2009 in American Idol, Fantasia

Former American Idol champion Fantasia Barrino is set to star in her own reality TV show on VH1. She does have mortgage bills to pay after all. The series will premiere in early 2010 and will document the singer’s life as an artist and a single mother. According to Executive Vice President of Original Programming at VH1, “Her [Fantasia's] challenges from fame and her unwillingness to fail have combined to create a larger-than-life talent who appeals to music lovers around the world. So many people wanted to work with her on this, but Fantasia is now part of the VH1 family, and we’re so happy to have her.”

Rihanna’s comeback

Posted by Sam on 17th April 2009 in Chris Brown, Rihanna, Tickets Sale

The singer has apparently been keeping a low profile ever since that nasty even of hers with former boyfriend Chris Brown, but now Rihanna seems to be coming back to the stage and she’s doing it in Dubai where she will have a concert on May 28th. A spokesman for Dubai tourism had this to say about Rihanna’s upcoming concert: “There will be over 25,000 tickets available. They will be going on sale in the next couple of days.” Also, the spokesman added: “Normally they create a special stage in the desert for these events.” Interesting… what’s going to happen in Rihanna’s case? Are they just going to let her sing in the sand? Or better still, maybe trick her into getting into a pool of quicksand and then enjoying the show?

“Know Your Enemy,” the first single from Green Day’s upcoming eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, is available now. After teasing fans with a snippet of the track, the full version has finally hit iTunes for the world to hear.
21st Century Breakdown, which will be released by Reprise Records worldwide on May 15th, is the best-selling trio’s first studio album since 2004’s two-time Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera American Idiot, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, and went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide. In a recent feature, Rolling Stone called 21st Century Breakdown “even more ambitious than American Idiot” and “a record of die-hard punk ideals…tightly scripted, continually ascending classic-rock excitement.”

Steel Panther Releases Video, Take Shots At Goo Goo Dolls, 50 Cent, and Madonna

Posted by Sam on 17th April 2009 in Music Bands, Music Video, Steel Panther, YouTube

Hollywood hair metal dreamers Steel Panther have launched an all out attack on the pop mainstream with their newest video “Death to All But Metal”. Asserting their alpha male dominance with plenty of hairspray, spandex, and sick stage moves, Steel Panther have taken shots against anyone NOT flying the hair metal flag. Kanye West, Madonna, and 50-Cent are among the superstars targeted by lead singer Michael Starr’s wrath in the clip.

“Death to All But Metal” is an homage to Van Halen’s classic “Hot For Teacher” video and also features a cameo by smart mouth comedienne Sarah Silverman as the school principal.

Steel Panther’s new album, Feel The Steel, hits stores on 6/9 (how fitting is that date?!)

Dave Matthews Band Offer Free Download of New Single Today

Posted by Sam on 17th April 2009 in Dave Matthews Band, Free Download

Through a “tweet” on Twitter.com today, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND have announced that they are giving away their new single, “Funny the Way It Is,” as a free download for one week. Dave (@davejmatthews) and bassist Stefan Lessard (@slessard) are both very active on Twitter, keeping touch with their huge fanbase and decided it was the perfect place to get the word out. The song comes off their upcoming album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, which hits stores on June 2nd. It will be the band’s first studio album since the death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore last summer. The “GrooGrux King” in the album title refers to Moore’s nickname within the group. Matthews created all of the artwork for Big Whiskey, including the richly detailed cover illustration that puts a GrooGrux spin on New Orleans’ traditional Mardi Gras parades while evoking the joy and the sorrow expressed in the album’s songs. Matthews has designed logos and other elements in the past, but this is the first time he has created the entire packaging for a Dave Matthews Band album.

Guitarist Tim Reynolds will play on the album, making it his first recording with DMB since 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets. The album was produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Goo Goo Dolls). Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King will also feature the recording debuts of Rashawn Ross who joined the band in 1996 but hadn’t played on any of their studio releases yet and Moore’s replacement, saxophonist Jeff Coffin who also is a member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones. DMB just released a trailer for the new album which can be seen below.

Dave Matthews Band kicks off its 2009 tour tonight with a show at Madison Square Garden in New York City and will be on the road through October 2nd. Please visit http://www.davematthewsband.com for a full itinerary of the band’s spring and summer tours – and also check the website for the launch of the Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King pre-order later this week. Ashley Tisdale Premieres New Single

Posted by Sam on 17th April 2009 in Ashley Tisdale, Audio Stream

Ashley Tisdale has just released her brand new single “It’s Alright, It’s OK!” The track premiered earlier this morning live with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM. Co-written by Swedish production team Twin, the song is a spunky break-up anthem about being single and in control of your life for the first time.

“I love break-up songs,” Tisdale says. “Everyone can relate to those moments when you need to vent your frustration about a previous relationship. ‘It’s Alright, It’s OK’ is about how you need to stand up for yourself and not let someone walk all over you; it’s a message I wanted to get across to other girls.”

An accompanying video to “It’s Alright, It’s OK” will premiere on MySpace’s on April 21st with feature support from such major online partners as AOL Music and Yahoo! Music, and MTV.com will premiere exclusive “making of the video” footage the week of the single’s release. Tisdale stars in the video with actor Adam Gregory (the CW’s 90210), who plays her ex-boyfriend. The clip was directed by Scott Speer, who has helmed previous videos for Tisdale as well as those from Jordin Sparks and David Archuleta.

Natalie Mejia is not Chris Brown’s new girl

Posted by Sam on 16th April 2009 in Chris Brown, Rihanna

Barely a month after pleading not guilty to manhandling Rihanna and barely two months after the violent incident between him and Rihanna, Chris Brown is once again on the prowl for a new love—err punching bag– and it seems the un-lucky girl is singer Natalia Mejia. Chris Brown and Natalie Mejia were recently photographed at Tattoo Mania, a West Hollywood tattoo parlor. Report of a budding love affair between him and Natalie Mejia was however denied by Chris Brown.

Chris Brown is denying reports that he’s getting romantic with Girlicious singer Natalie Mejia. Chris Brown however admitted she was in the same tattoo parlor but Natalie Mejia was not with him but with a certain Dean. There is also no truth to reports that Chris Brown is dating a college student in Virginia named Erica Johnson, his representatives said. There are however reports that Chris Brown spent Easter weekend with Rihanna.

Kelis and Nas want fans to find a name for their baby

Posted by Sam on 16th April 2009 in Kelis, Nas

Kelis and Nas are expecting a baby together for the first time but are finding it hard to find a suitable for their still unborn child. So to do just that the couple are planning to launch a new internet competition to find a name.

Nas, who is the father of a 15-year-old Destiny his daughter from a previous relationship has said: “Yeah, we are deciding between a few baby names. It’s kind of hard. I’ve been thinking about kind of putting something online – ‘Choose his name’.

I’m sure our stars are really dumb but what makes them such good business people are their reps and others involved in managing their careers’. Who gives them such horrible ideas to make money, these people are willing to sell just about anything to make money and gain publicity.

Wait and watch someday tattooing and piercing too would be selling as a reality show and that would be outrageous but then is anything outrageous any more.

Simon Cowell to Leave American Idol

Posted by Sam on 15th April 2009 in American Idol

It’s been rumored that Simon Cowell may be leaving his seat at the American Idol judges’ table when this season wraps up after he gave an interview to UK’s Daily Mirror hinting at his departure. He said about how the schedule is getting to him because, apart from Idol, he has two British-based shows and other projects. However, the famously bitter judge says he still loves doing the show and he’ll be staying put for at least another year, as his contract requires. Simon spoke to the Associated Press saying he is considering all options for his future and has yet to come to a decision about how he might trim his work load.

Jamie Foxx vents his anger against Miley Cyrus

Posted by Sam on 15th April 2009 in Jamie Foxx, Miley Cyrus, Radiohead

Recently teen star Miley Cyrus was involved in an ugly bust-up with rockers Radiohead. First up was Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke who snubbed the singer-actor during the Grammy Awards held in February.

Miley Cyrus wasted no time in getting back by vowing to “ruin” the British rock group last month. But out of nowhere Jamie Foxx has jumped into play and launched a blistering attack in the 16-year-old star by telling her to “make a sex tape and grow up”.

Hey Jamie, maybe you need to get off “the pipe” yourself. Dude, there are things that has us observers annoyed when Miley opens her mouth and puts her “her foot” in it, but this is very low of what you said. It shows lack of class and sophistication.

She may not be the most sophisticated, polished and intelligent person one wishes to meet, as a matter of fact, she is the poster child of the NASCAR, trailer – park family sect, but what you said, Jamie, was uncalled and boorishly rude.

Leona Lewis Gets Girls Aloud Treatment

Posted by Sam on 14th April 2009 in Girls Aloud, Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis is getting geared up to make her sophomore album and amongst the many people she’s working with, the X Factor champ will be joining forces with Girls Aloud song writing and producing team, Xenomania. Songwriter Miranda Cooper said “We are not going to change Leona’s style but it’s interesting for us to do something downbeat; tragic songs with a twist.” If they want to know what it’s like to make those types of songs, just try to go a back a bit on Justin Timberlake’s career. Those songs are what came to mind when Miranda talked about what they’re trying to do for Leona.
