Medical worker who sold Britney Spears’ medical records has died

Posted by Sam on 11th May 2009 in Britney Spears

A former medical employee who sold information from the private records of Britney Spears and Farrah Fawcett to a tabloid, has died.

Lawanda Jackson, 50, pleaded guilty to selling the medical records of high-profile celebrities who had been treated at UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

The US attorney’s office says it is now moving to dismiss the case against Jackson, who was due to be sentenced this week.

Jackson sold information from the records of Spears, Fawcett and other high-profile patients to the National Enquirer, authorities said. The publication has not been charged.

Her cause of death was not disclosed. However, Jackson’s federal public defender, Angel Navarro, said she died on March 24 from complications of breast cancer.

Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood is reportedly working on a new album following the break-up of his marriage last year

Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood is reportedly working on a new album following the break-up of his marriage last year.

The 61-year-old star left his wife of 23 years, Jo, for Russian model Ekaterina Ivanova, 20, in July last year.

It is now claimed, according to British newspaper The Sun, that the star has picked up a guitar again in an LA recording studio and plans to record his first solo album since 2001.

Danny Saber, former guitarist of the Black Grape, is reportedly working with Ronnie on his seventh solo track.

Ronnie’s estranged wife Jo is starting divorce proceedings against the star and recently said: “It’s time to get on with my life.”

Oasis brothers’ extravagant concert preferences

Posted by Sam on 11th May 2009 in Concert Gig, Oasis, Rock

Noel and Liam Gallagher are apparently quite the divas when it comes to the dressing room stocks of their concerts. A source recently spilled the beans on what the two Oasis brothers have in their dressing room: “Liam and Noel have requested that their dressing room be supplied with herbal teas, fresh organic fruit, almonds, pine nuts, Cadbury’s chocolate and organic crisps. They also ask for fine china crockery and a linen tablecloth.” Quite the impressive requests for Noel and Liam Gallagher… I wonder how they came to require such extravagant luxuries before the shows. They weren’t probably having the same comforts before playing in The Feisty Goat in Manchester when they were starting out.
