Pussycat Dolls on Break

Posted by Sam on 30th September 2009 in Music, Music Bands, Pussycat Dolls

For some time now, rumors have been going around that the Pussycat Dolls were breaking up. Well, the time has come for the music group to talk of a much needed break. Band member Melody Thornton confirmed that they were taking some time off from each other but assures fans that they will get back together soon. The singer said “Yeah, we’re taking a break. No, [we're not broken up] … everybody keeps saying that, but it’s like, let me see who took a break? Dave Chappelle. Remember when Dave Chappelle took that break? OK, maybe Dave Chappelle’s a bad example. What about, like, Hootie and the Blowfish?” Someone needs to get more familiar with pop culture during her break.

American Idol judge Simon Cowell has been given a new nickname Silly Simon by his ex-girlfriend Sinitta’s two children.

Simon, 49, is godfather to Sinitta’s two children Zac and Magdalena and she revealed the funny nicknames the youngsters have for the music mogul.

She said: “He always manages to put a rude or funny spin on most fairytales with funny voices and changing the characters.

“So when he starts telling them about Goldilocks and the Three Bogeynoses, they laugh until they cry.

“He pulls funny faces, makes rude sounds and sticks his tongue out, and that makes him cool.”

“Over You” (3 stars) — delivers “shiny heartbreak that splits the difference between *NSYNC and Maroon 5 – all riffing synths… and tunefulness.”

People Magazine

“…fans will likely swoon over …” whose “strongest tracks include the power ballads ‘Where Are You Now’ and ‘Goodnight My Love’ both showcasing Bruno’s emotive tenor. ‘My Own Way’ is an infectious pop-rocker.”

Watch Tokio Hotel In The Studio Recording Humanoid

Sneak a peek into the life of Tokio Hotel recording their new album Humanoid. Bill shows off his vocal recording room and discusses his extremely loud recording technique. “Most people use regular ‘headphone volume,’ but I can’t stand it. I need to feel like I’m onstage and I’m standing beside the other guys,” says the front man. The high-tech vocal mixer used on the tracks is what brought the band to Los Angeles to record. The clip also shows guitarist Tom Kaulitz playing the piano – a skill that most fans didn’t know he had. Visit MTV’s Buzzworthy blog for the rest of the story, and look out for the release of Humanoid on October 6th.

MTV Still Wants to Air DJ AM Series

Posted by Sam on 28th September 2009 in Drugs, MTV

Before his sudden and tragic death, DJ AM worked on a drug intervention show with MTV called ‘Gone Too Far’. The production team was able to capture enough footage for the making of 8 episodes and the network still intends to air them. At the moment, the production heads are in talks with the late entertainer’s family about how and when to show the episodes. It is being said that since the show follows DJ AM in the role of a “sober and experienced tough-love guide for troubled addicts” and the strong implications that his own death resulted from drug abuse that the show would come off as hypocritical.

The Show Goes on for Aerosmith

Posted by Sam on 28th September 2009 in Aerosmith, singer

Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry said that people can’t expect that their court ordered show in Hawaii in October to be as great as the rest of their concerts due to lead singer Steven Tyler’s injury. The band is obligated to perform though after losing a class action lawsuit due to a 2007 cancelled performance in Maui. Brandee Faria, the ringleader in the lawsuit says that “They know they can’t come out and do a 30-minute gig … because I’ll be there watching.” Mind you, Aerosmith just cancelled their tour back in August because Steven had a nasty fall and injured his shoulder.

Scott Storch Talks Brooke Hogan

Posted by Sam on 25th September 2009 in Drugs, singer

Douche bag producer Scott Storch revealed in a recent interview with Details magazine that he only produced Brooke Hogan’s album ‘Undiscovered’ because he felt pressured by the wannabe singer’s wrestler daddy, Hulk Hogan. Scott said “I love Brooke, but I did that s**t because her father was putting all sorts of pressure on me. Sure, it was fun. But the thing is, I didn’t make one good bit of music when I was high on coke. Not one bit.” I guess being high was the only way that he could make it through the day after having to listen to her voice for hours on end.

American Idol champ Kris Allen has released his new single ‘Live like We’re Dying’ off of the singer’s as yet untitled album which is scheduled to come out on November 17. Let me say this – I am quite sure that this is going to be a smash hit! The song is actually a cover from the Irish pop rock band The Script. Just like Kris did with Kanye West’s song ‘Heartless’, he totally sang the cover song as if it was it was written for him to sing. Honestly, he’s the only one I know who can make a cover sound totally original.

Jackson releases single from beyond the grave

Posted by Sam on 24th September 2009 in Michael Jackson, New Single, song

    SPL84523_001

This Is It, the aptly named latest single of the late Michael Jackson, will be released on October 12.

The single’s title could be taken to denote Jackson’s reaching the pinnacle of his life and career.

No details are available on the Sony Music Entertainment release apart from a backing accompaniment by Jackson’s brothers.

Sony will follow up on This Is It two weeks later with a two-disc set timed to go with the movie of the same name, which will come from rehearsal footage captured in the last weeks of Jackson’s life. The king of pop was in rehearsals for a gruelling 50-date UK tour that he said was to be both his comeback and his finale.

The CD cover for This Is It featured on websites shows a dazzling multi-coloured Jacko silhouette with arms outstretched.

    Jay-Z Loves Coldplay

Posted by Sam on 24th September 2009 in Chris Martin, Coldplay, Concert, Jay Z.

The Jay-Z and Coldplay tour hit up Wembley Stadium in London last weekend and the rapper ambushed his good friend Chris Martin with a hug while the band’s lead singer was playing the piano. A concertgoer said “It was a strange moment. Everyone went wild when Jay-Z joined the boys on stage but seeing him grab Chris away from the piano and onto the floor was a bit weird to say the least.” The two then rolled around on the stage floor for some time before Jay-Z let Chris continue on with the show. I wonder if anyone was able to get a video of this.

Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland suffered a seizure while flying from Los Angeles to Miami last Friday night. The rock star, who has reportedly had a history of seizures, was on an American Airlines flight when the seizure occurred. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport where Scott was rushed to the hospital for “precautionary measures”. He insisted on continuing on to Miami where Scott debuted his ‘Weiland for English Laundry’ line on Saturday night. Mind you, he even took the stage to perform just under 24 hours since his seizure.

Singer Robbie Williams has revealed that he thinks that the next couple of months will define the rest of his life.

The Angels singer’s new single Bodies has just been released, and his first album in over three years, Reality Killed The Video Star, is due out soon.

Williams said his new material consists of “electronica, ballads, [tracks with a] 1970s, rocky kind of feel. I’m all over the shop musically once again with this album.”

The 35-year-old added: “It could’ve all gone west. I don’t know if people have got their ears on for me, but I’m knocking at the door, going: ‘Do you want some of this again or not?’

“I’m alright if you don’t like it or if you do. I think the next couple of months will define the rest of my life.”

Williams has recently returned to the UK to make his comeback, after living moving to the States in 2006.
