iTunes Norway Leaks Kelly Clarkson

Posted by Sam on 25th February 2009 in Album Release, Kelly Clarkson, iTunes

It was reported that Kelly Clarkson’s entire new album was leaked last Friday onto the internet, a month before its official release. The culprit has been found out and surprisingly, it’s the people at iTunes Norway who are to blame. A glitch in their system allowed users to buy the album in its entirely and some of them decided to share their good fortune with the rest of the world wide web. I wonder if Apple has to pay up big bucks to Kelly and her record label for this mishap. What’s good about the album getting leaked though is that it’s good publicity with the fact that the album is really really good.

‘Get On Your Boots’ by U2 releases

Posted by Sam on 9th February 2009 in Album Release, U2

‘Get On Your Boots’ the brand new video from the rock band U2 has been released and happens to be the first video release from the band’s 12th studio album ‘No Line On The Horizon’ due to hit stores on March 3, 2009.

The video which has been directed by French film maker and artist Alex Courtes has been shot entirely in London and features the band performing against a background full of complex graphic art designed by Alex himself.

Speaking of the song and the video, The Edge has said, “It’s based around the idea that men have f—ed things up so badly, politically, economically and socially, that it’s really time we handed things over to women. The finished video is brilliant. He’s really nailed it.”

A U2 video about female empowerment! That is certainly interesting. Men have really a greater share in corrupting and eroding all things on Planet Earth, now we want the females to do the repair job.

Kara DioGuardi records song with Lachey

Posted by Sam on 9th February 2009 in Album Release, American Idol, Kara DioGuardi

American Idol’s fourth judge Kara DioGuardi has been getting all the attention lately. First, she made the headlines as the newest Idol judge and then because of her engagement. Now. the singer-songwriter-judge adds another feather to her cap by recording a duet with Nick Lachey for his “Coming Up For Air” album. The song, which they recorded, was also written by DioGuardi and Lachey. They made a studio demo and then agreed to just find someone else to sing DioGuardi’s part but Lachey said she did a great job on it she will be the other half of the duet.

Lachey said the song “Temporary” will hopefully be big for both of them not only because they had a great time producing the song but also DioGuardi is very talented she deserves the opportunity. Lachey is however not sure if DioGuardi can go with him on a tour since she will be too busy.

Chris Cornell’s long-awaited Timbaland produced album, Scream, is reaching stores on 3/10.  Chris has been keeping busy rehearsing with his new band and talking with his fans on his blog to gear up for the release.  The front man hasn’t picked up an electric guitar since the break-up of his legendary group Soundgarden back in the late 90’s, but according to his latest blog entry on ChrisCornell.com, he’s thinking of busting them out for his upcoming tour:

“Hi people. Here is an open question. Since I got my guitars back I have been considering playing guitar live again. Who thinks I should pick it up again? I play guitar all day every day as I am always working on new songs. Let me know if you think I should hit it live. The king is dead. God save the king.”

Chris Cornell will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel live tonight, Friday, January 23rd – and free tickets are up for grabs. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, come along and see his outdoor mini-concert – tickets and all other details are available HERE. It’s a great chance to catch Chris and his band live before they head out to Europe for four exclusive shows next month.

Hana Pestle’s Need For New Moon

Posted by Sam on 13th January 2009 in Album Release, Audio Stream

Hana Pestle is a self-proclaimed Twilight fanatic. The nineteen year old singer/songwriter from Billings, Montana believes she has the perfect song for the next movie and has started a movement to get “Need” in the forthcoming New Moon. The hauntingly beautiful track was one of her first compositions written at only fifteen years old in 2004. It was produced /co-written for her album by Ben Moody (co-founder of Evanescence) and Michael “Fish” Herring with string arrangements by David Campbell and piano performance by David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry). Check out the “Need for New Moon” page to learn more about the mission and watch a personal video message from Hana.

Hana’s E.P. is available now and her debut, full-length album is due out in July.

Kelly Clarkson’s New Album

Posted by Sam on 12th January 2009 in Album Release, American Idol, Kelly Clarkson

First we get the single, then we get the album. ‘Masquerade’ is said to be the name for Kelly Clarkson’s upcoming fourth studio album which is due out on March 17. On New Year’s the first ever American Idol champ released the heart lollipop cover for her new single off of the album ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’. The song is set to be released to radio on Monday, January 19. I wonder what the cover art for her album would be like. The single cover and her cover art for her last album ‘My December’ are such stark contrasts that I just don’t know what to expect anymore.
