The Josh Abraham (Slayer, Velvet Revolver) produced album features the lead single “Help Me,” which was inspired by the Joy Division biopic, Control. In an upcoming interview with Ultimate-Guitar, vocalist/guitarist Matt Skiba explained his love for the Post-Punk legends, “The sincerity of their music combined with their imagery and art is like nothing else.”

Agony and Irony is out on July 1st through Epic Records.

Spinner.com has just premiered the performance video for Alkaline Trio’s new single, “Help Me.” Director Tony Ushino (Ozzy Osbourne, Winds of Plague) pieced together clips from the band’s European tour along with some Bamboozle footage, to bring their first single from Agony and Irony to life. The band will be unveiling a proper, concept video for the track sometime in July.

Agony and Irony hits stores on July 1st.
