Wino Back in the Hospital

Posted by Sam on 17th November 2009 in Alcohol, Amy Winehouse

After partying it up at the Soho House in London this past weekend, Amy Winehouse was a little worse for wear. It’s been reported that the singer spent the next day at The London Clinic on doctor’s orders due to ingesting a mixture of incompatible substances. Apparently, Wino took cold medicine that did not mix with another medicine that she’s already taking. I guess Nyquil, Methadone and alcohol don’t exactly go well together. A friend said “Amy took over-the-counter stuff for a cold but it didn’t agree with medication she takes for her on-going recovery. A doctor came to the house and advised her to go the hospital to make sure she was all right.”

Wino Returns to the Stage

While performing at the V Festival at Hylands Park in the UK last weekend, second wave ska legends The Specials introduced a very special surprise guest to the crowd – Amy Winehouse. The singer’s performance with the group was less than impressive but it’s still great to see Wino back on the stage while staying steady on her own two feet. Wino wiggled along to ‘Ghost Town’ and ‘You’re Wondering Now’ before bidding the crowd goodbye and shouting “Give it up for the fucking Specials!” Here’s to hoping that once she’s back with her own music, she’ll be as great as when she first debuted.

Wino Cancels London Gig

Posted by Sam on 27th May 2009 in Amy Winehouse, Concert Gig

Amy Winehouse has once again cancelled a concert. Wino was slated for a gig in London to celebrate 50 years of Island Records but her management issued a statement saying that she and her band would be missing the performance. However, no actual reason was given as to why. No one would say why she wouldn’t make the trip, just that she wouldn’t. All the spokesperson for the venue would say was “Amy would like to apologize to her fans who bought tickets for the show.” A bit of advice, I don’t think that Wino is going to be performing anytime soon so I suggest you all just save your time, money and effort.

Amy Winehosue pays a visit to the hospital

Posted by Sam on 20th May 2009 in Amy Winehouse, Jazz Music

Maybe “again” is missing from that title. Whether it is a repeated experience or not, Amy Winehouse seems to have wound up in the hospital after partying with a bunch of her friends in St. Lucia. A source said the following about the singer’s new lap through a medical facility and the impact it will have on her upcoming concerts: “Amy’s concert might as well be canceled now. She’s not going to make it. It’s not worth her while even if she does make it, it will be a shambles. She is not ready for it.” Amy Winehouse is not ready for a whole number of things… her liver probably feels the same way. But then again, what would a concert of hers be if she didn’t show up hammered and tried to perform? There just wouldn’t be any justification for it.

Mark Ronson to help save Amy Winehouse’s career

Posted by Sam on 27th March 2009 in Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson

The celebrated producer has offered to save Amy Winehouse’s career after she apparently failed to impress her record label with her new material. A source close to Mark Ronson said this about the producer’s decision: “Mark does not have fond memories of collaborating with Amy last year. He said he wouldn’t work with her again until she had her drug problems under control. He thinks she’s better now so has agreed to come on board and do a little work with her on the songs. Mark’s happy to give Amy the help she requires. They gelled while recording ‘Back To Black’ and he’s hopeful some of that magic could return.” Since when did Amy Winehouse’s career need saving? And moreover, how can Mark Ronson succeed where the artist failed. It can’t be the fact that the producer’s name supposedly just zaps up value out of thin air, now can it?

Amy Winehouse Bails on Coachella

Posted by Sam on 11th March 2009 in Amy Winehouse, Coachella, Festivals

It is being reported that Amy Winehouse will not be performing at this year’s Coachella music festival. Don’t go hating on her though as Wino cancelled not because she bailed on concertgoers but because the singer has been denied a work visa due to her legal troubles. Wino is due to appear in court next week to settle charges brought against her by a fan who the singer assaulted back in September of last year. A friend of Wino said “Amy is absolutely gutted. She was looking forward to getting back on stage and this was going to be one of the biggest shows of her life… As well as 75,000 fans, there would have been top record execs there too so she might have even tried out some new material.”

Amy Winehouse Gets Cleaned Up

Posted by Sam on 9th March 2009 in Amy Winehouse

Sporting a freshly dry cleaned Peg Bundy weave, a new coat of face paint, a fitted 80s Cosby sweater mini-dress and bruise-free limbs, tropically reassembled train wreck Amy Winehouse was seen standing upright, purchasing some treats at a shop in London last Wednesday. Amazingly, the 25-year old hospital junkie appears to have healed her wounds without the aid of a gurney, 5150 hold or a conservatorship. Let’s hope she stays this way. If an extended vacation in a Caribbean island is what it takes for her to stay like this, I wish she would have just stayed there. Let’s hope she doesn’t have any contact with her estranged husband, recently released felon Blake Fielder Civil.

Amy Winehouse Hubby is Out

Posted by Sam on 2nd March 2009 in Amy Winehouse

Blake Fielder Civil is finally out! Amy Winehouse’s soon-to-be ex-husband was greeted by his mom at his release from Edmunds Hill Prison in Suffolk on Wednesday morning. Thankfully, Wino is still in St. Lucia. It should only be a matter of time now before Wino and Blake head to court and battle it out with their divorce. Both are blaming each other for their epic failure of a marriage and have the evidence to back it out. I can’t wait for the fight to begin. I know they both have dirty tricks up their sleeves. It’s just a question of which one is the dirtier player.

Amy Winehouse Surrenders Money

Posted by Sam on 6th February 2009 in Amy Winehouse, Coachella

In a move eerily similar to Britney Spears’, Amy Winehouse has put her parents in charge of her $21 million fortune. The money is still hers but she cannot spend it without the consent of either her dad Mitch or her mom Janis. Sources say that the move is a sign that Wino is finally turning her life around after a major descent into drugs. She may have been annoying guests at a St. Lucia resort that she’s been holed up in since the holidays but the singer claims to be drug-free. With her incarcerated hubby filing for divorce, new material in the works and a headlining spot on the Coachella lineup, this just may be the year of Wino’s comeback.

Amy Winehouse is Back

Posted by Sam on 28th November 2008 in Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse is slowly going back to her old ways. Her huge beehive is back and she is once again dealing with the drama of her hubby Blake Fielder-Civil. Blake was sent to rehab after being released from jail a couple of weeks ago but Wino has yet to visit. She was supposed to do so last week but she didn’t show even though she found time to go out. Wino and her beehive were spotted at newly open The Hawley Arms in Camden last week where she partied hard until 5 in the morning. I wonder what she’s celebrating, the fact that Blake is out of jail or that her beehive is back.

No Jury to Convict Amy Winehouse

The concert organizers that recently got stood up by Amy Winehouse are threatening to take legal action because of her no show. The show was scheduled on a Friday night. Organizers say that at 8PM that night, they got word that Wino was sick in England and was unable to make the trip to a city outside Paris for her set. Who’s going to side with the organizers? They were the ones who hired Wino and relied on her to show up. They were the ones to fall for the sick excuse. Everyone pretty much knows to get a refund when they see Wino on the bill because every concertgoer is aware that there’s a bigger chance of her not showing up.

Amy Winehouse Lashes Out

Maybe they should’ve kept her locked up in that hospital room because she’s apparently not ready to be around people. Amy Winehouse is attacking fans!

Seems a fan tried to grab her hair and Amy responded by lunging into the crown and trying to hit the fan. Images taken of the incident did not really show clearly what happened.

This all happened as she played her set at the Glastonbury Festival,

Wino’s US Tour

Reports have come out that Amy Winehouse is planning to make a trip to the US for a tour this summer. I wonder if immigration officials have any idea of these plans. Ticketmaster posted a concert listing for Wino on Monday saying that there’s a show at the Greek Theater in San Francisco in August. There’s no mistake about it as tickets go on sale on Sunday, May 4th. The ‘Rehab’ singer is supposed to play large venues across the US and is even listed to be playing the massive Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. It’s expected to be a big payday for the singer – if she gets her act together in the next couple of months.

Slash warns Amy Winehouse off drugs

Slash has warned Amy Winehouse not to destroy her career with drugs.

The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, a reformed alcoholic and drug abuser, thinks Amy should stay away from illegal substances if she wants to make the most of her incredible talent.

He said: “Amy’s cool, she’s carrying the torch for rock ‘n’ roll. I think she’s great, not so much because of her personal choices, but because she’s a fantastic singer with a unique sound and style. She’s on the verge of greatness, but it would be regrettable if her talent was overshadowed by her extra-curricular activities. She’s at a crossroads – I hope she makes the right decision.”

Although he is a huge fan of Amy, Slash isn’t so complimentary about today’s guitarists. He added: “It’s sad. There’s no identifiable guitar player in rock ‘n’ roll any more. With the exception of Jack White – who is great – the new breed of bands aren’t bringing out decent guitarists. Rock ‘n’ roll is so diluted at the moment, you just don’t hear good solos.”

Slash, 42, is regarded as one of the all-time great guitarists along with Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen and Eric Clapton.

Amy Winehouse court hearing

Amy Winehouse should be in Norway right now but she doesn’t feel like facing the music yet. The Grammy Award winner has reportedly asked a local district court to postpone her drug possession hearing scheduled for February 29th. The charges on her stem from an arrest last October. Wino and hubby Blake Fielder-Civil were arrested in the Norwegian city of Bergen for possession of marijuana. They were then released after each paid $715 in fines.

It’s being reported that the reason Amy wants to stay in London is because Blake is supposed to be in front of a judge the same day she’s scheduled to be in Norway.

Natalie Cole on Amy Winehouse

Posted by Sam on 14th February 2008 in Amy Winehouse, Drugs, Grammy Award, Natalie Cole

natalie-cole-grammys.jpg

Natalie Cole talks about Amy Winehouse in a different light from how many others have done. Jealous much?

“I’m going on record as an artist who is able to critique [Amy Winehouse]. I think she has a great talent, but I don’t agree with the Grammys giving her those nods. I think it sends the wrong message, that even in the midst of her stupor of drugs she can get nominated for all these awards. It’s a slap in the face to musicians and artists who work very hard that they turn around and give it to someone who really obviously doesn’t have a grasp of what she has. I’ve been in this business over 25 years and I sacrificed five years of my own life on drugs and almost lost my life because of it. So I take great offence to almost see someone getting glory out of being in the position that they’re in – she needs to get her life together and embrace her craft, she will lose it if she doesn’t get it together.”

Amy Winehouse To Be Absent at Grammy’s

Posted by Sam on 4th February 2008 in Amy Winehouse, Grammy Award, Rumor

amy-winehouse.jpg

Amy Winehouse just entered rehab a week ago but the Grammy Awards ceremony where she’s scheduled to perform is already next weekend. Her dad Mitch says that he doesn’t want his daughter to attend, which is understandable really. The concerned father said “I’m not sure the Grammy’s are going to happen. I don’t want her to go – I think it might be a bit too soon for her. She’s not well – that’s why she’s in rehab. But she’s doing OK. She is getting good treatment.”

As much as I’d like to see her win some awards, I’d rather hear that she’s healthy and on the straight and narrow.

Blake has turned to God

Posted by Sam on 17th January 2008 in Amy Winehouse, Flash News, Pop Music, Rehab

Blake has turned to God

Amy Winehouse’s husband, who is locked away in Pentonville prison on GBH charges, has reportedly turned to God in his hour of need.

Blake Fielder-Civil has reportedly been receiving daily visits from the prison chaplain and also has a bible in his cell, which sources say he finds really therapeutic.

Perhaps God will help him channel his anger at Amy’s recent behaviour. Blake was said to be furious after the newly blonde singer stayed the night in a hotel with producer Mark Ronson. Apparently he feels threatened and worries Amy will choose Mark over him.

Amy’s night in hotel

Amy’s night in hotel

Once again it’s Amy Winehouse in the headlines; this time infuriating jailed hubby Blake in the process.

While Blake Fielder-Civil is locked away in Pentonville prison; his missus is locking herself away in hotel rooms with her record boss, Mark Ronson.

Soul star Amy, 24, and handsome Mark, 32, had guzzled booze and slurped Häagen-Dazs ice cream together during a late-night studio recording session. Then at 5.30am they hurried off to the trendy K West Hotel at Notting Hill, west London, and checked into the same room, booked in Mark’s name. Amy emerged at midday yesterday. Pals say the pair are “inseparable”

A friend said: “It’s the last thing Blake needs to hear right now. He’s furious about how close they are. He’s fearful that Mark has much more in common with Amy than he does and is worried he’ll steal her away.”
