Ashley Tisdale recently talked to Us Weekly about her new album ‘Edgy’. The actress and singer talked about how she found her new sound for her latest CD, saying “My music was more inspired by my hair color! After 5 years of blonde, I went back to my original color. It made my music edgier.” That’s probably the most shallow reason I’ve ever heard. And what is with singer’s changing hair colors for the new albums anyway? Ashley, Katherine McPhee – who’s next? And really, it’s not such a positive message that you’re changing your image to present something else that may not really be who you are.

Ashley Tisdale has just premiered the video for her single “It’s Alright, It’s OK!” The Scott Speer (The Veronicas, Jordin Sparks) directed video features 90210’s Adam Gregory as Ashley’s ex-boyfriend. “It’s Alright, It’s OK” will appear on the forthcoming Guilty Pleasure due out on June 16th. Watch Ashley rock out and trash her ex’s house with a huge party here!

It’s Alright, It’s OK! Video:

Ashley Tisdale has just released her brand new single “It’s Alright, It’s OK!” The track premiered earlier this morning live with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM. Co-written by Swedish production team Twin, the song is a spunky break-up anthem about being single and in control of your life for the first time.

“I love break-up songs,” Tisdale says. “Everyone can relate to those moments when you need to vent your frustration about a previous relationship. ‘It’s Alright, It’s OK’ is about how you need to stand up for yourself and not let someone walk all over you; it’s a message I wanted to get across to other girls.”

An accompanying video to “It’s Alright, It’s OK” will premiere on MySpace’s on April 21st with feature support from such major online partners as AOL Music and Yahoo! Music, and MTV.com will premiere exclusive “making of the video” footage the week of the single’s release. Tisdale stars in the video with actor Adam Gregory (the CW’s 90210), who plays her ex-boyfriend. The clip was directed by Scott Speer, who has helmed previous videos for Tisdale as well as those from Jordin Sparks and David Archuleta.

Ashley Tisdale recently held auditions for her new band in Los Angeles as she gears up to release Guilty Pleasure later this year. Fans now have the opportunity to follow Ashley through an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the making of Headstrong. These 45 minutes of exclusive nonstop footage give a glimpse into Ashley’s hectic life including promoting her album and touring with the High School Musical cast. The DVD also contains a three song video trilogy featuring songs the “He Said She Said”, “Not Like That” and “Suddenly” from her album Headstrong. Ashley has been busy promoting the DVD with a cross-country mall tour sponsored by Red by Marc Ecko.

The video for the first single off of Headstrong, “He Said, She Said,” has become a Youtube sensation with nearly 5 million views. It also reached #1 status on MTV’s TRL countdown thanks to the support of Ashley’s fans.

With this special edition DVD, fans have the chance to see the complete story of Headstrong as well as behind-the-scenes footage of Ashley recording her album and growing up on tour.
