It has been announced that the newly released “Shout” video from thrashers BLACK TIDE will be featured on mtvU’s new artist show, The Freshman. The show spotlights emerging artists both on air and online, with a chance for one of the competing videos to get an automatic add into rotation on the channel the following week. Rise Against has just issued the following update;

Few things are more exciting than watching Bush finally release America as his eight year hostage, but if anything could rival that news, it’s this: We are more than pleased to announce that we will have the honor of touring the US & Canada with punk rock legends RANCID this summer. If Tim Armstrong didn’t confirm it personally backstage in LA a few weeks ago, we wouldn’t believe it either.

Hot on the heels of ultra-successful runs with Theory of a Deadman, Seether and the Puddle of Mudd Tour, Nashville favorites SafetySuit will grace the stage alongside multi-platinum artists 3 Doors Down and Hinder for what is poised to be one of the biggest rock tours of 2009. They’ll be kicking off a month long run on January 22nd in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Nearly a year after their debut single “Someone Like You” hit airwaves SafetySuit have garnered critical acclaim and widespread appeal. “Someone Like You” broke through the Hot A/C Top 30 and Alternative Top 15, while the accompanying music video is steadily climbing the VH1 charts-hitting #8 on the Top 20 Countdown week of 12/22. If this is her idea of casual wear, I’m sort of afraid to find out what she just lounges in when she decides to just veg out. Lady Gaga was spotted in London on Monday night dressed in a leotard and neon green biking bottoms. You just have to love her sense of style and bravado. The ‘Just Dance’ singer apparently had a craving for some fish and chips as she picked up some food to go dressed like that on her way to a studio. The singer is currently rehearsing for her upcoming European tour where she will be the opening act for the Pussycat Dolls. Come March, she will be embarking on her first solo North American tour.

A lot of things have been going on around Mariah Carey. Most recently, it is rumored that the diva is actually pregnant. So what of that tour that she had planned? I’m telling you that she is most likely pregnant because the singer has apparently decided to discard plans for a new tour which has sent dancers and costume designers into a tizzy because they were banking on being employed by Mariah. Now, the ship has sailed and have left them stranded. A spokesperson for Mariah said “A tour was discussed, but nothing was confirmed. I have not been told she’s [MC] pregnant.”

Pop princess Britney Spears is celebrating her birthday today with the release of her highly anticipated album, Circus, and the announcement of North American tour dates!  Britney will be kicking off The Circus tour this spring in New Orleans with support from the Pussycat Dolls.

Canadian melodic-rockers State of Shock will be digitally releasing their album, Life, Love & Lies on December 23rd. Already a headlining act up north, the band have set their sites on the States with a supporting slot on Staind’s current U.S. tour. State of Shock have also just re-released their track “Rollin” which was originally released on their Canadian debut album. The slow-burning track will also be available on Life, Love & Lies when hits all digital outlets.

Mötley Crüe announced today plans for their Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Winter Tour, hours before headlining a special one off performance at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The Live Nation produced, Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Tour, will feature special guests — Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and The Last Vegas.  The tour kicks off February 2nd in San Diego, CA with 29 shows throughout North America, including a date at Madison Square Garden, with the final performance on March 18th in Portland, ME.  Tickets go on sale beginning November 21st at www.livenation.com and www.motley.com.

I’ll believe this when things actually take place but the UK’s Sun is reporting that Michael Jackson is planning to embark on a 30-city tour in 2009. The paper reports “Michael said he wasn’t doing a Vegas residency but was going on a world tour, taking in 30 cities next year. He said he wanted to do it for his kids. He wants them to see what he does, and he wants to take them on the road. He said he was on his way to Los Angeles to finalize the details.” Apart from that, Michael Jackson is also supposedly recording a new album at The Palms casino resort in Las Vegas.

The All-American Rejects have just completed their video for the first single, “Gives You Hell,” from their forthcoming album, When The World Come Down. The Marc Webb (Fergie, Maroon 5, Miley Cyrus) directed video was shot in Los Angeles and features an “embarrassing underwear shot” of the band and an “evil Tyson neighbor.” Check out the behind-the-scenes of the video here.

Fans will be able to experience “Gives You Hell” first hand as the band embarks on a fall tour commencing November 6th in Orlando with additional dates to be announced in the coming weeks. Eric Hutchinson, one of the latest artists to be featured in VH1’s high-profile “You Oughta Know” program, will kick off a headlining tour on November 7th. Charlotte Sometimes and Matt Hires will open on the tour, which will conclude December 13th at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. The soulful singer-songwriter will precede his headlining gig by opening up for Jack’s Mannequin on a string of dates beginning October 14th. Hutchinson was recently hailed as “a new pop sensation” by Entertainment Weekly and is set to release an exclusive iTunes edition of his debut album, Sounds Like This. It will be released on October 14th featuring two bonus tracks — “OK, It’s Alright With Me” and “You Don’t Have To Believe Me” — that Hutchinson recorded earlier this year while guesting on NPR’s “World Cafe” — plus the official video for lead single “Rock & Roll.”

Janet Jackson was set to resume her Rock Withchu concert in Greensboro, North Carolina but again ended up postponing that concert at the last minute. Just an hour and a half before show time, concertgoers already in the venue were told that the show will not go on. At this point, the signer has not performed more concerts than she has on her tour. She’s already postponed concerts in Montreal, Detroit, Boston, Philadelphia and Greensboro. Apparently, she wasn’t feeling well enough to go on with show in Greensboro. A local doctor advised her that she should not perform that night. I hope it’s nothing too serious.

STAIND is touring in support of new album THE ILLUSION OF PROGRESS, which debuted on Billboard’s Top 200 at No. 3, and new hit single “Believe,” which is currently No. 1 on the Modern Rock Chart. THE ILLUSION OF PROGRESS is the fourth consecutive album of STAIND’s career to debut in the top 3.

When the concerts are being sold out in the matter of minutes then who on God’s Good Green Earth has the treasures to buy Kylie Minogue.

The larger than life news is that the tickets for the first concert of Kylie Minogue in Australia were sold out within two minutes on the morning of September 8.

The concerts are scheduled to be held on December 14 in Sydney and December 20 in Melbourne.

With not a single ticket available for the above two shows; now the tickets for two new shows have gone on sale. One show has been added to both Sydney and Melbourne.

Costume designs for the Queen of Pop’s tour have hit the web. Madonna has once again teamed up with designer Arianne Phillips whom she’s worked with for about 11 years. Phillips told Women’s Wear Daily that the new tour was a challenge saying “Normally we prep in April and May, and open in June. This time, the tour begins in August. It’s a nightmare. Everyone in Italy and France is on a beach sunning themselves.” She also revealed “Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci designed two outfits and Tom Ford provided bespoke suits for the band. Three pairs of shoes have been custom-made by Miu Miu, there are thigh-high boots courtesy of Stella McCartney, sunglasses from Moschino, and other outfits and odds and ends from Yves Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, and Jeremy Scott.”

Staind have just unveiled the official video for their new single, “Believe.” The Christopher Sims (Saosin, Bleeding Through) directed clip is the first off the hard rock band’s upcoming Johnny K. (Disturbed, Black Tide) produced album, The Illusion of Progress. Staind are currently out on tour with 3 Doors Down and Hinder.
