The statement reads “Axl Rose was unhurt last evening when he was accosted by an unruly group of paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Mr. Rose, who was about to enter a security checkpoint at LAX when the altercation took place, was approached by a group of unchecked and unruly photographers who became aggressive with the singer and female members of the travelling group. Mr. Rose was not injured during the unprovoked attack and was able to board his flight without further incident.”

The former Guns N’roses guitarist recently admitted that collaborating with Fergie is about the only way he can be seen on stage. Slash said the following after a performance with his new partner: “Fergie’s the only way you’ll hear Slash right now.” Well, there goes the neighborhood! And Slash makes it go in such a subtle way. Guns N’roses is probably all but withered now that Slash isn’t even thinking about rejoining them. And of all the people he could’ve played with, why Fergie? At least he still has the hat which he now apparently keeps in a steel drum case. Let me guess… Axl Rose never let him do that, right? That’s the reason for all of this.

Produced by Axl Rose and Caram Costanzo, Chinese Democracy includes 14 tracks. The title track and first single from the album, “Chinese Democracy”, was released to radio at 5:00AM eastern time today. Two of the recordings have been recently released–“Shackler’s Revenge” debuted September 14 in the “Rock Band 2” videogame and “If The World” debuted October 11 in the film Body Of Lies.

“The release of Chinese Democracy marks a historic moment in rock ‘n’ roll,” said Irving Azoff and Andy Gould, Guns N’ Roses’ co-managers, “and we’re launching with a monumental campaign that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself. For some reason, a rumor came out that former Skid Row front man Sebastian Bach will be joining Velvet Revolver. Well, forget the rumors that you might have heard because it’s not happening. However, he has been contacted by current Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash (also of Guns N Roses fame) about working on a top secret project together – or so the British music media reports. It sounds like a lot of trouble if you ask me. Scratch that, I bet it sounds like crap with a butt load of guitars. I hope this doesn’t end up like that Tommy Lee-Gilby Clarke-Jason Newsted project.

Slash has warned Amy Winehouse not to destroy her career with drugs.

The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, a reformed alcoholic and drug abuser, thinks Amy should stay away from illegal substances if she wants to make the most of her incredible talent.

He said: “Amy’s cool, she’s carrying the torch for rock ‘n’ roll. I think she’s great, not so much because of her personal choices, but because she’s a fantastic singer with a unique sound and style. She’s on the verge of greatness, but it would be regrettable if her talent was overshadowed by her extra-curricular activities. She’s at a crossroads – I hope she makes the right decision.”

Although he is a huge fan of Amy, Slash isn’t so complimentary about today’s guitarists.He added: “It’s sad. There’s no identifiable guitar player in rock ‘n’ roll any more. With the exception of Jack White – who is great – the new breed of bands aren’t bringing out decent guitarists. Rock ‘n’ roll is so diluted at the moment, you just don’t hear good solos.”

Slash, 42, is regarded as one of the all-time great guitarists along with Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen and Eric Clapton.
