The Jonas Brothers ended up cancelling their concert in Zurich last Saturday night because Nick Jonas got sick with an upper respiratory infection. The official announcement said “We are sad to announce the cancellation of the Jonas Brothers concert for this evening in Zurich. Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers is ill with an upper respiratory infection of the nose and throat and the doctor has advised that he not speak or sing… The band, the management, and the promoter apologize that the show must be cancelled on such short notice… Tickets can be refunded as of Monday, 9 November until 31 December 2009 at the presale agency.”
Despite Nick Jonas having some solo ambition, the Jonas Brothers have no intention of breaking up. In a letter to their fans, the band of brothers said “We plan to make music together for as long as we can.” Nick also wrote “We’ve said from the beginning of our career as the Jonas Brothers that anything we do outside of the group is a side project because you can’t break up brothers. My brothers are my biggest supporters, and were on the phone with me everyday while I was in the studio asking how it was going, and telling me they couldn’t wait to hear the record.” Joe and Kevin replied to that, saying “We are so proud of our brother Nick. We know that we will be doing music together for the rest of our lives. But we are thrilled for you to hear these songs that were on his heart.” Aww.

Kevin Jonas better make sure that his fiancé is happy because his two younger brothers may both be nursing some broken hearts. As far as I know, Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus are still a couple. However, if you follow the Hannah Montana star’s Twitter, there might be a reconciliation between her and ex-boyfriend Justin Gaston. Miley recently tweeted about listening to a John Mayer song saying “Listening to ‘Comfortable’ and thinking of you. I miss your voice.” Some time after that, Justin tweeted “Car ride with @benmschofield and @sierrajacobson9 listening to “I loved you, grey sweatpants, no makeup, so perfect” and you know it’s true.”
Kevin Jonas, the eldest of the Jonas Brothers, is now officially off the market. The 21-year old singer recently got engaged to marry his girlfriend of 2 years, Danielle. His parents, Kevin Sr. and Denise Jonas released a statement regarding the news, saying “Our hearts are filled with joy today and we are happy to share with you that our son Kevin has asked Danielle Deleasa for her hand in marriage. Her answer was yes and it is such a blessing that she will be joining our family. Kevin and Danielle have not yet set a date. Family is very dear to us and we hope we have raised Kevin to be a wonderful man and husband. Please join us in our families celebration and in congratulating Kevin and Danielle. Thank you for all of your support.” Congratulations!
The Jonas Brothers know how to keep their fans happy and the fans know how to return the favor. For the second time in less than a year, the trio of singing brothers debuted at #1 last week’s Billboard albums chart with their latest release ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’. The guys from New Jersey sold over 247,000 copies of the record this week and they are on point to keep this good thing going for a few weeks more. It looks like their fame isn’t fading after all. Congratulations for scoring another top spot! With a tour going on, they’re sure to stay there.
If you happen to be a Jonas Brothers fan, then I’m sure you’ve heard ‘Much Better’, a song off the trio’s new album ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’. You should also be aware that it’s that song that makes a little dig at Joe’s ex-girlfriend, the singer of ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’, Taylor Swift. Everyone’s speculating that the song is about the country cutie but we’re all going to be left at speculation because Joe isn’t confirming anything. Joe talked about it in a recent interview and said “We went through a lot in the past year and a half, all of us. And you’re just going to have to get the record and figure it out for yourself.” He should just own up to it. Taylor did when she released ‘Forever and Always’.
If you’re wondering why the Jonas Brothers are such good little boys, you better ask their mom. Denise Jonas recently opened up about her famous trio of kids in the July issue of ‘Good Housekeeping’. Nick admits “She makes us be careful in the hotel room…[She makes us] put back the towels, straighten the bed.” Considering how hotels have their own cleaning service, she sounds kind of strict. Mama Jonas also talked about her sons’ purity rings saying “They are men. They have desires. They have testosterone. If they make a mistake, I’m not going to hate them. I don’t think they are above or below being seduced. I would be foolish if I thought that. I pray for them.”

The Jonas Brothers are hustling as the band of brothers were spotted in London at the Empire Leicester Square for the UK premiere of their movie ‘Jonas Brothers in 3D’ on Wednesday. Hundreds of tween girls screaming at the top of their lungs came out to show their support for the guys. For their sakes, I hope that their movie will do better overseas than it did in the US. Talk about a major bummer. If they still do poorly overseas, it goes to show that their star is really on a downward spiral now. And I doubt that tweens would want the Jonas Brothers to be washed up before Nick even turns 18.
Lady Gaga’s comments always seem to be as unique as the singer’s style. The ‘Poker Face’ singer recently made another pop culture prophecy by comparing the fandom of iconic rock band The Beatles to the current-day Jonas Brothers mania. Lady Gaga mused “Now we have the Jonas Brothers representing the return of the superfan.” I’m not too sure about that. If memory serves me right, didn’t the Backstreet Boys, Hanson, NSYNC and even the New Kids on the Block bring back the superfan over a decade ago? I guess Lady Gaga wasn’t even aware enough of those fandoms to have made the comparison.

With all the hype and the number of teeny boppers in the planet, who would have guessed that the Jonas Brothers and their 3D film experience will tank? Their concert experience brought in nowhere near the projected $30 to $40 million it was expected to rake it. In the end, the band of brothers only earned Disney an estimated $12.7 million in the US Box Office. Miley Cyrus’ ‘Hannah Montana’ 3D concert earned almost three times as much in it’s opening weekend and it was shown in about half as many theatres. If you want to add insult to injury, the Jonas Brothers also failed to grab the number 1 spot at the Box Office.
The Jonas Brothers presented a list of the ‘Top Ten Surprising Facts about the Jonas Brothers’ in their first appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman last week. Dave also asked them whether they’d had any “famous relationships, like Miley Cyrus. Was there somebody here involved with Miley Cyrus?†Nick confessed that “we went on tour with Miley Cyrus… Again, going back to the ups and downs, I think that I was 14, so it’s, you know, I was pretty young, so I think you can just consider it a young little relationship.†Dave also threw out Taylor Swift’s name and Joe, who dated the country singer, said “No, um, yeah, you know, we didn’t work out.â€

Jonas Brothers are officially set to appear on Barbara Walters’ Oscar special! Other guests will include Mickey Rourke, Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman. Be sure to tune in Feburary 22nd at 7pm on ABC to catch the intimate interview with Kevin, Joe and Nick.
Jonas Brothers are set to release the Soundtrack to their new movie, “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience†on February 24th, three days before the film is slated to hit 3D theaters across the nation. The soundtrack includes old favorites like “Hold On†and “S.O.S†as well as live performances with Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato, a Shania Twain cover, and one new, never-before-heard studio recording called “Love Is On Its Way.†The highly anticipated film goes behind-the-scenes with Kevin, Joe and Nick on last year’s Burning Up Tour, following their every move along the way. Check out the recently released video for “Tonight,†the first single from the Soundtrack, featuring great live footage from the movie.
2008 was a record breaking year for Jonas Brothers where they took home six Teen Choice Awards, starred in Camp Rock, went platinum with their #1 debuting “A Little Bit Longer,†released “Burnin’ Up,†and became the youngest group to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone. The New Year has already proven to be a continuation of their hot streak with a performance at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert in D.C. and an upcoming performance on the Grammys where they are nominated for Best New Artist.
The Jonas Brothers have reportedly filmed scenes for their new Disney Channel TV show in Los Angeles recently. Too bad that was false. The band of brothers was actually filming their new ‘Lovebug’ music video. The video is for the second official single off of their third studio album ‘A Little Bit Longer’. The Jonas Brothers were spotted entering their trailer for a quick costume change. To keep the production details under wraps, production assistants covered the brothers with umbrellas and blankets as they travelled from their trailer to the music video set. What the heck is so top secret about a music video?
If only that will actually happen, it will be one of the biggest crossover hits if you ask me. The Jonas Brothers continued Fan Week with dance pop star Lady GaGa at MTV’s Total Request Live at the MTV Times Square Studios on Tuesday in New York City. The brothers are really becoming one hot commodity as the New York Times gave a raving review about their Burnin Up concert at Madison Square Garden saying “Now they are among the most culturally important American rock bands of the last decade, reflective of the size and buying power of the children’s market, the mainstreaming of clean Christian values in pop and the evergreen ability of a few handsome kids with reedy voices to captivate all girls within eye- and earshot.â€
