Recently engaged Katy Perry revealed that she found out that her fiancé Russell Brand was going to propose to her via Google. The 25-year old singer said on the red carpet of the 2010 Grammy Awards EMI Party at the W Hollywood Hotel and Residences “Unfortunately, I still Google myself sometimes. I saw it on Google alerts. I’m going to be honest!” At least she was a good sport and didn’t let that ruin her and Russell’s fun. After the Grammys, Katy went on her Twitter and said “tonight was lovely, don’t think I’ll be sleepin on 2010, it’s time to show them aces eh! Goodnight everyone ”

American Idol is Back

American Idol will be back for its ninth season next week! The two-night season premiere will air on Tuesday, January 12th, at 8/7c on FOX and Wednesday, January 13th, in the same time slot. According to Access Hollywood, the premiere week will feature auditions from Atlanta and Boston. Ellen DeGeneres, the show’s newest judge, won’t be on the panel until February. Instead, guest judges will be sitting in during the initial audition rounds. Celebrity judges include Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Joe Jonas and Katy Perry among others. I can’t wait fr the season to start!

Katy Perry Disses John Mayer

Katy Perry isn’t one to shy away from controversy and it seems that she’s not too shy on sharing her feelings about John Mayer either. A concertgoer tattled about a last minute lyric change in the ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer’s New York City concerts last week. Katy swapped the lyrics in ‘You’re So Gay’ to take some digs at John. Katy sang “I’m so mean ’cause I cannot get you out of your head. I’m so angry ’cause you’d rather TWITTER instead. I can’t believe I fell in JOHN MAYER!” The original lyrics go “I’m so mean cause I cannot get you out of your head. I’m so angry cause you’d rather MySpace instead. I can’t believe I fell in love with someone that wears more make up than…”

Katy Perry Comments on Style

Katy Perry has an interview in the new issue of Women’s Health where she talks about her personal style. She said “I like experimenting and I’m totally OK with ending up in the ‘worst dressed.’ It’s happened many, many times, but I’m proud of those outfits. I don’t follow trends. I’m just not into what everyone else is wearing. I have my own look, which I call ‘Lolita meets old Hollywood Glam.’ I’m a big fan of Dita Von Teese, because she does it all herself. That is her job: to look fabulous going to the grocery store. Cyndi Lauper is another favorite. She was just so out of her mind in the ’80s. It takes someone who has no limitations in style to create stuff that epic.” Kudos to her for being herself.

Last weekend, Katy Perry was called to the stage of Franceâ€™s NRJ Music Awards to receive the International Song of the Year award for her worldwide hit â€˜I Kissed a Girlâ€™. However, by the end of the show, the host announced that there had been a mistake in vote-counting and that Katy didnâ€™t really win. Rihanna was the real winner for â€˜Disturbiaâ€™. The awards were apparently based on results of audience votes on NRJâ€™s website in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. Katy did win International Album of the Year though. Maybe there was just a mistake in the printing of the winnerâ€™s envelopes.

Katy Perry got pretty in pink as she filmed an outdoor scene for her new music video in Los Angeles last week. The â€˜I Kissed a Girlâ€™ singer is coming out with her next single called â€˜Hot N Coldâ€™. The 23-year old sensation was shooting wedding scenes for her video and is hoping to duplicate her success with her last single. Kinga Burza, the director for her first video says â€œI predict she is going to be massive and wish her all the best. Sheâ€™s fresh, original, intelligent and talented, with a star-like charisma, which will have boys and girls all around the world cooing for more!â€
