Lil Wayne Goes to Court

Posted by Sam on 7th October 2009 in Christmas, Lil Wayne

A court hearing recently concluded that Lil Wayne will stand trial next March on drug possession and weapons charges he got himself back in January 2008. Even though the rapper pleaded not guilty, Chief criminal Yuma County Attorney Roger Nelson says that his office “doesn’t offer misdemeanor plea deals on such cases and that’s probably one of the reasons why the case hasn’t been resolved.” Tough break for Lil Wayne! I bet that it wasn’t the Christmas present that he wanted for the holidays. At least we have something to look forward to next year. It’s always entertaining when celebrities go on trial.

Lil Wayne in Arizona court

Posted by Sam on 24th June 2009 in Drugs, Hip Hop, Lil Wayne

The rapper has apparently made an appearance in a court in Yuma, Arizona regarding weapon and drug possession charges. Lil Wayne was supposedly discovered to have had cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun in his tour bus and these were found by the Arizona border patrol… of course, the rapper has pleaded not guilty to all of these charges. Now this is the stuff real rappers are made of. And Lil Wayne is probably going to do hard time for it… not community service or get probation periods. Oh well, it probably pays to have a good lawyer too, considering all of this.

Big Trouble for Lil Wayne

Posted by Sam on 8th September 2008 in Lil Wayne, Rapper

For someone with the abbreviation of the word little in front of his name, Lil Wayne has been getting into some big trouble recently. The rapper was recently ordered by a Miami judge to pay New Orleans jeweller Jack Sutton the money he was due. Lil Wayne has now recently missed a scheduled court appearance related to his drug charges. Even though he didn’t show up, the judge said that he was not excused from appearing. Lil Wayne’s reps however claim that he only missed the hearing due to an unnamed medical condition. Sure. The rapper is due back in court this October. Surely his medical condition would have let up by then.

Lil Wayne Arrested

More rappers are getting rap these days. It doesn’t matter if they’re male or female or big or lil.

Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested Saturday morning in Boise, Idaho for felony charges of being a fugitive. A felony warrant out of Fulton County, Georgia for a felony possession of drugs was out for the rapper. Georgia authorities contacted Idaho police and gave them the heads up. He was arrested immediately following his concert Friday night at Qwest Arena.

Cops say that he was cooperative and is now in protective custody pending an arraignment and extradition hearing. Wayne was previously arrested in July with a gun charge in New York and in 2006 with a drug possession charge in Atlanta.
