The cast and creator of ‘Glee’ gathered to greet thousands of fans and gave a couple of details from the show. They even shared a couple of fun facts like what sort of lines were cut from the show and who turned them down for covers. Did you know that Coldplay and Bryan Adams denied the hit series from covering their music? Creator Ryan Murphy also talked about the all Madonna episode saying “I’ve worked with Madonna before. I admire her greatly and I’m friends with her a little bit socially. I called her up and wrote her a letter and said we want to write up a tribute to you and she said yes and she cooperated in every way possible. We do 10 songs altogether. Jane is going to do ‘Vogue.’” I can’t wait!

Madonna Writes to the Queen of England

Madonna is directing her second film ‘W.E.’ which involves the 1936 scandal involving Edward VIII and the twice-divorced American socialite Wallis Simpson. The Queen of Pop has written to the Queen of England for permission to shoot on location on Royal grounds. One of the singer’s associates said “Madonna is keen to make the film as authentic as possible and would be very grateful if we are allowed to film at certain locations. She loves the UK and holds your Queen in the highest regard.” She shouldn’t hold her breath though as a royal courtier said “I can’t imagine that Her Majesty would make an exception, particularly for a film about Wallis Simpson.”

Woman Found Guilty for Murder of Punk Star’s Manager

The woman responsible for killing the former manager of the Ramones in 2007 has finally been convicted of second degree murder. Natavia Lowery was convicted in a Manhattan court room last week of killing 62-year old Linda Stein, who managed the legendary punk band the Ramones and went on to become a high profile real estate agent, serving clients such as Madonna. The 28-year old Lowery was found guilty of bludgeoning Stein to death with a piece of exercise equipment and stealing $30,000 from her in October 2007. Justice has finally been served for the awful and unnecessary crime. May Linda Stein finally rest in peace.

Madonna is Loyal

Warner Bros. Records is losing two legends this week. First to leave is Liz Rosenberg, a public relations icon who has been with the company for the past 39 years and has handled some of the biggest names in history. Second to leave is Madonna, who is following Liz as she forms her own agency, Liz Rosenberg Media. Fortunately for the label, the split is on amicable terms and both the singer and Liz plan to continue to have ongoing consultations with the company. Madonna’s willingness to follow Liz out the door comes from such a long relationship that started back at the dawn of the Queen of Pop’s music career. Talk about being loyal!

Celebs listed for impact on philanthropy in website’s analysis

Celebrities were ranked in accordance with their influence on philanthropic causes.

The Daily Beast recently published what it called The Celebrity Impact Rankings to find out how much the celebrity’s work raised public awareness along with how generous they were.

Justin Timberlake was the most effective philanthropic spokesperson in the US, according to a complicated formula that was used by the site.

Timberlake’s work on the Shriners Hospital for Children was reported to yield $9 million for the organisation over the last two years.

The second celeb on the list was megastar Madonna, whose work with Malawian children generated “$5 million+ worth of publicity” to Raising Malawi since 2007, the website claimed.

Third ranking went to Pamela Anderson for “$4 million+ of campaigning” for PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Others to make the Top 10 list were Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Rhianna, George Clooney, Salma Hayek and Shakira.

More Stars Joining Haiti Telethon

Brad Pitt and Robert Pattinson will also be joining the two-hour Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief telethon that begins at 8PM ET tonight. The 46-year old ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ actor and 23-year old ‘Twilight’ hunk will be joining the ranks of Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and many other stars. The event is actually a collaboration between George Clooney and MTV Networks and will air on several channels. Beyonce, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bono and Madonna are just some of the singers who have been confirmed to be performing during the special. Tune in to the telethon and give what you can to help save a life.

Madonna Gives to Haiti

In the wake of Haiti’s devastating earthquake, Madonna has donated funds to help end the suffering. In a statement, the singer said “My prayers are with the people of Haiti. I can’t imagine the terrible pain and suffering they are experiencing. Sadly the depths of the tragedy are just becoming known and the need for our support grows more urgent with every passing moment. I have given a donation of $250,000 to assist Haiti’s earthquake victims through Partner’s in Health, one of Haiti’s leading health care providers. I urge all of my friends and fans around the world to join me collectively to match my contribution or give in any way you can. We must act now. Thank you for your support.” Honestly, any amount of help would be welcome. If you have even just a few dollars to spare, please do make a donation.

Madonna taking Mercy to meet her father

It seems that the pop star has decided to take her new adopted daughter back to Malawi to meet her biological father. Moreover, Madonna also wants to give Mercy a chance to bond with her dad. A source said the following about Madonna’s decision: “Madonna wants Mercy to learn all about her culture and the community where she was born. She realises her kids need a sense of home and she’s determined to do all she can to give that to them. She doesn’t want to deny Mercy anything in life – and that includes meeting her dad if that’s possible.” Apparently the man was against the adoption from the get go… is Madonna really doing this as a sort of “in your face” thing or because her guy-toy boyfriend isn’t really a suficient father figure for Mercy at this time?

Madonna has finally won damages from a British newspaper for publishing pictures of her wedding to Guy Ritchie. Though the exact amount of the money that the singer collected was not disclosed, in her initial arguments, the Queen of Pop demanded anything in excess of $8 million. The pictures that were published were actually stolen from her California home. There’s no word yet if she will be splitting the money with Guy. I would imagine that it’s highly unlikely though. Why anyone would screw with Madonna, I don’t know. I’m just glad that I can laugh at them for thinking they could actually get away with it.

Madonna Talks Lola

When your mom happens to be the Queen of Pop, I doubt that you’re not going to want a piece of that pie. That’s why we can’t be surprised when Madonna gave details on daughter Lourdes Leon and her very ambitious entertainment career aspirations. In a recent interview, the singer talked about Lola’s cameo in her ‘Celebration’ video, following her footsteps and accepting Lola’s decision regarding her career path. Madonna said “I’m fine with it, as long as she finishes school, and takes it seriously. She also plays piano, and she’s really into clothes and fashion and style. She can go in any direction. She’s got a lot of diverse interests right now. We’ll see. I’m not pushing anything. We’ll see what she wants to do.” Madonna also said that she thinks Lola wants to be more of an actress rather than a singer.

Michael Jackson Tribute Album

There has been a lot of talk about celebrities making a Michael Jackson tribute album and it seems that things are finally moving along. Some of the big performers planning on recording the tribute album include the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Robbie Williams, Whitney Houston, Usher, Shaheen Jafargholi, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. According to The Daily Star, Mariah will sing ‘I’ll Be There’, Shaheen will sing ‘Ben’, Madonna will sing either ‘Beat It’ or ‘Billie Jean’, and Robbie is lined up to sing ‘Man in the Mirror’. The album can prove to either be a success or just one big mess.
