Madonna on Vanity Fair

Madonna is featured on the cover of Vanity Fair’s third annual May 2008 Green Issue. It’s not even April yet but the Queen of Pop is looking mighty fierce as usual. Unbowed, uncowed and still taking on the world! I couldn’t have said it better myself. Madonna’s on one really big promotional move for her new album ‘Hard Candy’ which will be out on April 29. She may not be doing any shows performing her single featuring Justin Timberlake ‘4 Minutes (To Save the World) but how many covers has she done? Is there any magazine left that she hasn’t been on this year?

Madonna and Guy are Going Strong

Madonna’s rep Liz Rosenberg recently went on the record to say that the Queen of Pop and her hubby Guy Ritchie are still happily married. Everyone knows not to believe anything until they see proof and Madonna is more than happy to give us that. She and her director husband arrived arm-in-arm at upscale Italian restaurant Harry’s in Mayfair, London on Tuesday. It looks like they’re still spending time together. But again, I need some hard proof first. They could just be doing this for publicity’s sake. There were a lot of momentous events that Guy could have showed up with Madonna but he didn’t yet he chooses to go out to dinner with her on some random night after a lot of rumors came out about the 2 splitting up. Suspicious.

Madonna Goes Hip Hop

If the 17-second leak of the song Madonna and Justin Timberlake did was any indication, then the Queen of Pop is going hip hop on her new album which will be out in April. The singer has changed her style numerous times over the span of her career – a few hits and misses but not so much problems. While many are anxious about this turn in her musical direction, there are also a lot who like the songs that have been leaked thus far. Just hope that she doesn’t rap on anything, otherwise, that’s a whole other story. But if it’s any indication, Rolling Stones magazine heard 5 songs from Madonna’s new album and their in-depth review of it is quite promising!

Justin Timberlake and Madonna Save the World

A 17-second clip of the upcoming Madonna and Justin Timberlake song has been released. It’s the same song for which the two filmed a video for. The new track is called ‘4 Seconds to Save the World’. It was produced by hit maker Timbaland and Justin himself.

It looks like it’s all systems go for the promotion of the song. I personally haven’t heard it and am quite curious as to what it’s about. The title is catchy though. I wonder if Madonna is preaching something about Raising Malawi anywhere on it. And I wonder if all her new songs would sound like anything JT and Timbaland have done before.

3 Divas for Sunsilk – Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn Monroe

Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn Monroe

Three of the world’s most iconic women – Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn Monroe, are all going to be featured in a new commercial and campaign for hair care expert Sunsilk. Using old stock footage, a commercial featuring the three will debut during the Super Bowl XLII. But if you can’t wait to check it out, a video has already leaked on YouTube. It’s all part of a new Sunsilk campaign called ‘Life Can’t Wait’ which has the goal of inspiring women all over the world to get up off of their couches and start living their lives to the fullest.

Now I’m just wondering – who’s collecting royalties for Marilyn?

Madonna’s Vacation

Madonna’s Vacation

A lot of celebrities chose to party the night away in celebration of 2008 but Madonna chose to celebrate it differently. The singer has been enjoying a low-key holiday since she and her family arrived in India from the Maldives on a chartered jet on December 31.

On Thursday, Madonna and family went on a two-hour horse ride in the Rajasthani desert. “Madonna spent New Year’s Eve with her family at a wilderness camp in the desert,” said Siddarth Singh, whose family owns the nearby Rohetgarh Fort and helped organized the entertainment which included traditional Rajasthani dance, folk music and even a dancing horse show.

Director Madonna

Madonna is set to make her official debut as a director soon. It has just been announced that the Queen of Pop’s film ‘Filth & Wisdom’ is going to make its world premiere this February at the Berlin Film Festival. The movie is “Described as a comedy/drama/musical/romance, the story features a Russian immigrant, ballet school, lap dancing, cultural revolution, poetry, night club, punk rock band, book writer, dominatrix and gypsy. The Gypsy punk band that appears in the film is portrayed by real-life Gypsy punk band, Gogol Bordello, who also contributed three songs to the film’s soundtrack. The band’s lead singer, Eugene Hütz, portrays the main character — a character with a philosophical attitude towards life. Madonna allowed additional dialogue written by Eugene himself to be included in the film. Additionally, Gogol Bordello performed ‘La Isla Bonita’ with Madonna at the 2007 Live Earth benefit concert in London, United Kingdom.”

Timbaland leaked Madonna’s new single ‘4 Minutes to Save the World’

Madonna’s new single ‘4 Minutes to Save the World’

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was the first to report that Timbaland leaked Madonna’s rumored new single ‘4 Minutes to Save the World’ and also even posted the track on the website. But it seems that the move has infuriated Madonna’s current record label Warner Bros. because Perez was told to take down the recording. They obliged of course. What’s one simple click of a mouse compared to millions due to a lawsuit?

Timbaland played the song in concert on Sunday night and now, audio and video recordings of the song are all over the internet. Someone may just get a stern talking to.

Madonna Makes it Official

Posted by Sam on 19th October 2007 in Madonna, Music, News, Records Deal

Finally we get official word! Madonna is definitely leaving Warner Brothers Records and signing a new deal with Live Nation for a reported $120 million.

The Queen of Pop released a statement on Tuesday confirming the news of the deal. “The paradigm in the music business has shifted and as an artist and a business woman, I have to move with that shift. For the first time in my career, the way that my music can reach my fans is unlimited. I’ve never wanted to think in a limited way and with this new partnership, the possibilities are endless. Who knows how my albums will be distributed in the future? That’s what’s exciting about this deal — everything is possible. Live Nation has offered me a true partnership and after 25 years in the business, I feel that I deserve that.”

Madonna’s New Movie

All you movie fanatics don’t have to worry though because Madonna wouldn’t be acting. Although I’m not really sure if it’s good news or bad. This time, Madonna is sitting in the director’s chair for a new documentary.

Rosie O’Donnell revealed it in the ‘Ask Ro’ section of her website when asked about what movie she saw with the Queen of Pop when they were spotted together. Rosie described the documentary ‘I Am Because We Are’ as something devastating and amazing. It focuses on the poor, full of suffering lives of Malawi Children. Mainly, it’s about how AIDS has affected the lives of the children.

The documentary also highlights the work of Madonna’s organization Raising Malawi.

Malawi Still Murky on Madonna Adoption

Posted by Sam on 5th August 2007 in Celebrities, Flash News, Madonna, Music, Music Bands, Pop Music, Scandal

There’s still some red tape standing in the way of Madonna’s mother-of-three status.
Due to Malawi’s timeworn adoption laws and the lack of resources to oversee the case, officials are not much closer to signing off on the pop icon’s adoption of David Banda, who was 14 months old when the Material Girl took custody of him in October, than they were last year. madonna-plane.jpgI feel that the whole might get delayed but in the end she will have custody of the child and will be able to overcome all the current hiccups. Malawi’s Child Welfare Services, which is supposed to evaluate the family’s suitability, has already missed its first scheduled visit, in May, to the Ritchies’ London abode, citing various logistical problems. If there are too many delays then the officials in Malawi can sit there in their office and let the family enjoy time with the child.

Sydney kicks off Live Earth day

Sydney and Tokyo have begun a worldwide sequence of Live Earth concerts aimed at raising awareness of climate change.
A total of 150 artists will be performing in nine cities, including London and Washington, over 24 hours.

Among the biggest names on stage are Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, The Police and Garth Brooks.

Live Earth is organised by former US Vice-President Al Gore, who called the concerts a “global response” to a global problem.

Organisers say the concerts will reach an audience of two billion people via TV, radio and online broadcasts.

But critics have said it is hypocritical for performers who fly around the world on tours to push the message of cutting down on carbon emissions.

The Sydney event kicked off with a traditional aboriginal welcome and Al Gore appeared on video screens to launch the worldwide initiative.
