Former Oasis star Liam Gallagher said he is planning to set up his own band.

The 37-year-old was a member of the Britpop band until band member and brother Noel, 42, walked out.

Talking about his future plans, he said: “I don’t want to do anything solo. I want to be in a band. But we can do things a lot differently these days. It’ll definitely be rock ‘n roll.

“I’m always going to miss Oasis. It was MY thing. It’s who I am. But it’s only a name. I’m still who I am and I can go and do something else. It might be **** but you don’t know until you try.

Liam’s fall-out with brother Noel is still going on and he said: “I gave Noel some of my Pretty Green clothes out of courtesy.

“And he took it, which ****** me off ‘cos he should have threw it back in my face ‘cos we weren’t talking. But he took it and he probably put it in the bin.

“Or he probably wears it round his house when his missus is out. Soon as she comes back in, he probably takes it off because he’s not allowed as he’s under the thumb.”

Noel Gallagher Goes Solo

Posted by Sam on 26th October 2009 in Oasis

After a big fight with his brother Liam Gallagher, former Oasis member Noel Gallagher is going to embark on a solo project. The musician said “I’m looking forward to doing my own thing, bringing out my own music. I’m glad that’s what people want to hear. I am not thinking about much else, Oasis or Liam, I’m just having a good time.” Noel left Oasis back in August after his brother made some inappropriate comments about the paternity of his daughter, Anais. I wish him the best of luck, though I doubt that he’ll be able to replicate the success of Oasis.

Glastonbury bosses hope to get David Bowie, Oasis and The Who for next year’s festival

Glastonbury bosses are reportedly lining up acts such as David Bowie, Noel and Liam Gallagher from Oasis, and The Who for next year’s UK festival.

It is claimed organisers Michael and Emily Eavis want the festival’s 40th anniversary next year to be the best yet with performing acts from the last four decades.

A source said: “Michael and Emily want to make next year’s festival the most memorable ever. They’ve got a number of ideas up their sleeves, but one they are already working on is getting past performers to play at the next bash.

“They’ve sent out feelers and have got a lot of positive feedback so far. And if they manage to pull their plan off, then, without a shadow of a doubt, they will have one of the greatest musical bills ever put together in history.”

The Enemy wants Oasis support

Posted by Sam on 18th May 2009 in Concerts Tour, Oasis, The Enemy, Uncategorized

The band that is currently opening for Oasis’ tour this Summer in the UK wants the headlining of the concerts to be the other way around. The Enemy’s front man, Tom Clarke, expressed the band’s point of view: “I don’t think Noel needs to do it any more. He’s doing it for the love of it. That’s the dream. That’s when you can say you’ve made it.” And of course, when the bigger band’s guitarist is doing it all just because he loves it, then it means The Enemy should be headlining. Interesting theory on Tom Clarke’s behalf… I can’t wait to hear what Oasis has to say about it, especially considering Liam Gallagher’s extraordinarily patient and understanding nature.

Oasis brothers’ extravagant concert preferences

Noel and Liam Gallagher are apparently quite the divas when it comes to the dressing room stocks of their concerts. A source recently spilled the beans on what the two Oasis brothers have in their dressing room: “Liam and Noel have requested that their dressing room be supplied with herbal teas, fresh organic fruit, almonds, pine nuts, Cadbury’s chocolate and organic crisps. They also ask for fine china crockery and a linen tablecloth.” Quite the impressive requests for Noel and Liam Gallagher… I wonder how they came to require such extravagant luxuries before the shows. They weren’t probably having the same comforts before playing in The Feisty Goat in Manchester when they were starting out.

Noel Gallagher’s appreciation for the US

Posted by Sam on 17th March 2009 in Oasis

The Oasis guitarist has recently admitted his attachment to the US and says he would like to live there. Noel Gallagher said: “I’ve grown to like America. It’s a place for adults. Once you get past 40 you start to appreciate it. I would love to live in Los Angeles, I’ll get a house between Madonna and Robbie Williams. But I don’t think I could go because of the kids. I can’t have a son with an American accent. I can’t have them calling me pop.” Noel Gallagher’s arguments for not making the move are truly those of an adult… he’s right, who’d want to have kids with American accents and in turn be called pop due to this little detail. Noel Gallagher is indeed making the right choice and demonstrating his adultness… which clearly proves he belongs in America.

China Says No to Oasis

Posted by Sam on 6th March 2009 in China, Concert Gig, Oasis

Oasis has been forced to drop two shows in China which were scheduled for April as the country has decided to put a ban on the band from performing in the country. After learning that Oasis member Noel Gallagher appeared at a ‘Free Tibet’ benefit concert in the United States over 10 years ago, the Chinese government deemed that the band is “unsuitable to perform to their fans in the Chinese Republic.” In response, Oasis has issued a statement saying “Oasis are extremely disappointed that they are now being prevented from undertaking their planned tour of mainland China and hope that the powers that be within China will reconsider their decision and allow the band to perform.”

Daniel Craig is a better guitarist than Noel Gallagher

Posted by Sam on 8th January 2009 in Oasis

Or so the actor claims. He has recently been thinking about playing the role of the Oasis guitarist if a movie about the band will ever be done. He also mentions that small detail about his guitar abilities and Noel seems to have given him his blessing: “I wouldn’t be averse to a film about Oasis. I would like Daniel to play me. I said to him, ‘If you can swing it for me to get the James Bond theme tune, you can play me if they do an Oasis movie.’” I find it a bit “funny” (to be read “unusual”) that a band with such high, let’s call it “self-esteem” as Oasis would take something like that coming from a mere actor. But of course, it’s not like a potential movie wouldn’t be on the list of “things the greatest band ever should have”.

Liam on Oasis Attacker

Posted by Sam on 20th October 2008 in Oasis

Liam Gallagher is still going on about how his brother was attacked by getting tackled to the ground by a concertgoer during one of their shows. He said “It’s not nice when you look down and see your brother on the deck. If it was up to me, I’d have cut his [the attacker's] dick off and made him eat it.” It further confirms my theory that the attacker was very lucky to have been apprehended by security and sent to jail rather than have to face the wrath of the brothers Gallagher. I think that if this had happened on the street, we wouldn’t be able to find the guy’s body for a very long time.

Oasis changed album title because of Geri Halliwell

Oasis changed the title of their new album after realising it shared its name with a Geri Halliwell song. The rockers’ forthcoming seventh studio LP was originally due to be called ‘Bag It Up’ until Noel Gallagher’s long-term girlfriend realized she had heard the title before.

The guitarist revealed: “My girlfriend said, ‘Bag It Up’, isn’t that a song by Geri Halliwell?’ I was like, ‘You’ve ruined my entire f***ing year.’”

Noel also revealed the band can’t remember some of the songs they recorded in the sessions for the album, which is now titled ‘Dig Out Your Soul’.

He explained: “I was doing the Electric Proms with The Coral, who had recorded at my studio. They’d had a sneaky listen to our new stuff so singer James Skelly asks me, ‘Are you going to do ‘Soldier On’? I don’t remember it. Turns out Andy Bell recorded it with Liam – but Liam still doesn’t remember it.”

The band recently recruited Robbie Williams’ former drummer Chris Sharrock – and Noel admits he couldn’t resist the chance to hire his rival’s former employee. Noel said: “It was too much of a temptation to p**s Robbie and Liam off in one phone call.”
