Fox is trying to pull out all the stops to ensure that their musical drama ‘Glee’ holds the attention of everyone. Expect to see the first soundtrack of the show released through Columbia Records very soon. The CD will feature 17 songs from the hit show’s first season, including Queen’s ‘Somebody to Love’, Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’, Kanye West’s ‘Gold Digger’ and Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’. Fox will also make use of Twitter to boost ratings on their repeat episodes. Viewers can re-watch their favorite episodes on Fox network while getting the exclusive chance to talk to cast members and producers via the social networking site.

Adam Lambert Teams Up with Lady Gaga’s Producer

Sometimes, losing American Idol has better perks than actually winning it. Idol runner up Adam Lambert has reportedly begun working with RedOne, the man behind many of Lady Gaga’s hits and who, apparently has a renewed interest in glam rock. A source at RCA Recordings said that Adam’s debut album will feature a Queen-inspired sound that will go beyond what he ever did on the show. That sounds hot. Be sure to watch out for Adam’s debut album which is scheduled to drop this fall. Idol champ Kris Allen will also release his album then. I can’t wait for both debuts and see another showdown.

Adam Lambert Talks Album

While Queen has expressed their consideration of Adam Lambert to become their permanent front man, the American Idol runner up has high hopes for his solo album. He recently shared his plans to record, saying “Labels tend to try to put one box around every artist and keep them in one genre, but I think [my album] can be a collection of different styles. I don’t want to do one specific genre. I’m more about fusion. There are a lot of pop artists that are using the ‘glam’ kind of vibe in their music currently so I think I’m actually part of a wave. There just happens to not be many guys doing it right now.”

Dissecting the American Idol Upset: Kris Allen’s victory

Everyone has been calling Kris Allen’s victory over Adam Lambert an American Idol upset. What’s so upsetting about it? It’s not like Kris isn’t talented. But when you’ve pretty much orchestrated a finale show that showcased Adam more than Kris, it would be upsetting to you. Kris only got to perform one song with Keith Urban while Adam got to sing a medley with rock icons KISS. Heck, even Danny Gokey got to sing more songs than Kris when Danny sang a medley with Lionel Richie. Add to that, the final performance of the two before the winner was announced was with Queen. Adam’s star was made to shine brighter than Kris’ that night but I guess the producers didn’t expect a rally of fans for Kris.
