“Slash” the autobiography!

Posted by Sam on 22nd November 2007 in Book, Music, Music Artist, Rock, Singers

‘Slash’, an autobiography was written by Slash himself along with Anthony Bozza (who also helped write Tommy Lee’s book ‘Tommyland’). The book is an intensely personal account of struggle and triumph, filled with stories of women, drugs, lawsuits, rehab, riots, and all sorts of debauchery.

A big part of the book is that for the first time, Slash tells the tale that has yet to be told from the inside of Guns ‘N’ Roses: how the band came together, how they wrote the music that defined an era, how they survived insane, never-ending tours, how they survived themselves, and, ultimately, how it all fell apart.
‘Slash’, a book is sure to swirl up controversy with its brutally honest stories straight from Slash himself. Readers can find more info on the book, Here

Slaves To Gravity – The Purple Turtle

Slaves To Gravity - The Purple TurtleSlaves To Gravity - The Purple Turtle

It was a particularly freezing cold November night in Camden and up and coming London rockers Slaves To Gravity were playing the home leg of their current UK tour.
The 4 piece looked fresh faced and enthusiastic to be playing in their home town and as it was still early days in the tour exhaustion obviously was a long way off yet. The band weren’t the only ones ready to play either. The venue was at least half full when STG came on stage and it was easy to see those watching were friends and followers. They were singing every word and dancing to the sexy Rock and Roll this band produce.
Judging by the crowd Slaves To Gravity seemingly appeal to the lovers of the smooth and sexy. The tight trousers, the big hair, the leather and all that comes with it. Their music also oozes with sex appeal, its dirty, skin-tight and clad with pure rock and roll aggression.

Kid Rock-Rock N Roll Jesus

Kid Rock-Rock N Roll Jesus

As its title suggests, this balls-to-the-wall album finds Kid Rock latching onto the verities of sex, drugs and rock & roll as a path to redemption — both his and the country’s. He’d never admit it, but hurt over losing Pamela Anderson fuels his appetite for salvation. She’s the target of the hilarious country romp “Half Your Age,” which proclaims Rock’s new girlfriend to be “half your age and twice as hot.”

Rock shows his wistful side, too. “All Summer Long” takes its inspiration from “Night Moves,” by Bob Seger (Kid’s Michigan idol), mashing up the piano lick from “Werewolves of London” with bits of “Sweet Home Alabama” for a story of sexual awakening. It’s stirring stuff. And “Amen” imports a gospel choir to denounce religious hypocrisy, racism and pointless soldiers’ deaths in Iraq. There’s straight country, hard-edged rock, big soul balladry and rhymes declaimed over metal guitar. Throughout, Kid Rock extends the Seger-Mellencamp tradition of heartland rock — its swagger as well as its vulnerability — into a new era.

Kid Rock is the first to admit that he’s “no saint” — his immortal couplet (from “So Hott”), “I don’t want to be your friend/ I want to fuck you like I’m never gonna see you again,” amply makes that point. But his good-hearted faith in rock & roll delivers a powerful kick. As he well knows — and Rock N Roll Jesus proves — roaring guitars, truckloads of attitude and an unquenchable lust for life make up for a multitude of sins.

Armor For Sleep will release Smile For Them on October 30th.

The dark-pop-rock album with the single “Williamsburg” and standout track “Smile For Them” makes it clear that Armor For Sleep has taken notice of society’s fascination with self-made celebrity and reality stars… and they aren’t shy about it.The video for “Williamsburg” will make its world premiere on TRL, MTV and mtvU October 29th, the day before the album hits stores. Shot with the intention to be a social commentary on the Hipster scene, the video gives a satirical lesson straight from the Hipster 101 classroom.

McCartney Boasts Of His Decadent Youth

Posted by Sam on 15th October 2007 in Beatles, Celebrities, Life, Pop Music, Rock, Singers

paul-mccartney-photo.jpg

Paul McCartney has boasted of his “decadent” womanizing years in The Beatles, during a candid interview with troubled rocker Pete Doherty. McCartney requested Doherty interview him for a British newspaper, after watching his band Babyshambles perform on TV. You go Paul; you deserve the best that the world has to offer. You have given so much to mankind you should get a little in return. I only wish the women in your life were as awesome as the band you were in. Some the women in your life have just entered your life to turn you into some trash that you certainly are not and rob you of your money that you have earned because of your sheer talent. Just look at how Heather Mills is trying and maybe succeeding at getting a large chuck of your fortune and you haven’t been able to kick aside these gold diggers from your life. Life is certainly to have fun and when you have the money there’s nothing to stop you too, but old guy act wisely or else you’d be like that tennis player Borg who left with nothing despite winning millions.

Kid Rock Regrets Not Hitting Tommy Lee More To Promote New Album

Posted by Sam on 10th October 2007 in Kid Rock, Music, New CD DVD, News, Performance, Photography, Records Sale, Rock

kid-rock-new-album.jpg

Kid Rock has one regret about his fight with Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards last month – he wishes he’d punched the Motley Crue star a few more times. So look what he has to say, these days a good album doesn’t not sell itself until you have a controversy riding behind that album’s back. This man’s so stupid it’s a miracle he can walk upright. I won’t support this man’s brand of stupidity, what a LOSER. Kid rock need to shut up his album going go flat regardless. This is the only publicity he is getting the story is getting old. But guys doesn’t this highlight the fact that most of our artist feel the need to cook up some controversy just before their albums hit the market so as to generate some interest in their albums. This shows that there exist an attitude where the artist things he has do something to be in the news/stoplight so the fans keep talking about them and somehow those gossips turn into album sales for them and business is good keeping them alive in the business, all wrecked up stuff – forgetful tactics.

Free Radiohead

radiohead.jpg

Isn’t it amazing when you don’t have to follow anyone’s rules except your own? That’s exactly what Radiohead is doing.

Now that the band is no longer signed to a major record label, they are choosing to give away copies of their new album, ‘In Rainbows’ which would be out next week. The band members are letting fans choose to pay as much or as little as 90 cents, the credit card processing fee to download the album from their site.

But if you’re a die-hard fans, pay something around $80. That’s the price of the new Radiohead box-set which includes the new album on CD, 2 vinyl records, another CD with additional songs, photos, artwork and lyrics.

James Blunt Only Knows Saucy Spanish Phrases

Posted by Sam on 11th September 2007 in Celebrities, Funny, James Blunt, Music, Rock, Singers

james-blunt-photo.jpg
Singer James Blunt has turned to Spanish in an attempt to woo potential girlfriends – but he only knows saucy phrases. He says, “I can say two things, ‘Tienes un condom?’ and ‘Cosquillee mis pelotas’. The first means ‘Do you have a condom?’ and the second is ‘Tickle my balls.’ You tickle my balls. You tickle my balls. You tickle my balls, it’s true. I bet you all that’s the only phrase this pervert knows in Spanish and he would have learnt to say the same words over and over again with a few changes and that’s the only thing this chap wants to tell his potential girlfriends. I wish he meet a real hottie from Spain whose got an even more hotter head and gives him a real whack on his ass in front of a 100 odd gathering at an uptown restaurant where he gets so embarrassed that he first learns to say ‘sorry’ and ‘I apologize’. Then she makes him wash the dishes at the restaurant and has a bodyguard who a huge hunk and James has to leave the place with his tail between his legs, which would be real fun, haha.

Avril Lavigne’s Interview with Q Magazine

Posted by Sam on 9th September 2007 in Avril Lavigne, Celebrities, Music, Photography, Pop Music, Rock, Rumor, Singers, Songs, TV Show

avril-lavigne-photo.jpg

Self-praise is what keep our celebrities in high spirits and their own world where they are the most secure and comfortable. Once again, Avril Lavigne has opened up her big, stupid, ugly, annoying, conceited, dumb (I could keep going) mouth about how great she is. She’s already put down Britney Spears and now she’s saying how she’s better than Kelly Clarkson. Umm, I don’t think so honey. Kelly Clarkson may have gained 20 pounds and dropped an album her executives hated but she’s still a million times more talented, interesting and beautiful than Avril. She thinks she was born to do this and so she can now cope with her fame. What rubbish, does a sweeper or cab driver have to do the same job because he thinks he was born to do this? Avril if you really mean the words you’ve said in the interview then that’s like – do you know how many more albums you going to make or how long you going to behave in such a high headedness manner. Give me a break please. Quit giving your lame back-handed compliments.

Singer Faulkner scores top album

Posted by Sam on 27th August 2007 in Celebrities, Music, Newton Faulkner, Rock, Singers, Songs

newton-faulkner.jpg
Singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner has hit the top spot in the UK album chart, confirming him as one of this year’s hottest new artists. I feel good there are new artist who are smashing their way up to the top of the charts. Otherwise all that we see is, old and saturated artist grabbing the top slot week after week. We need fresh talent and even the market needs newer artist who will ask from less money from record companies to sign on to produce new albums. What I would also like to see more often are some kind of freelance singers who haven’t been singed on by music companies they bang their way on to the charts, take people by awe, leave their peers zapped and their music becomes a hit at night clubs. This way they inspire more of a music culture that’s independent from the clutches of music bosses. Wishful thinking but I wish there exist some place like this.

Amy Winehouse’s Bloody Bad Day

Posted by Sam on 25th August 2007 in Amy Winehouse, Celebrities, Country Music, Drugs, Music, Pop Music, Rock, Scandal, Singers

bruised-amy-2.jpg

If this is what comes from resting up, Amy Winehouse may have been better off remaining on the road. Just three days after calling off her U.S. tour and vowing to return to a countryside “retreat” to deal with her ongoing “health issues,” the “Rehab” chanteuse was photographed in London Thursday with bloody scrapes and cut marks all over her face and body. Holy cr**. This is weird and sick. Very very sick! Cutting is a sign of a horrific mental illness than goes far beyond substance abuse. Although someone who has a mental illness unrelated to substance abuse may attempt to use drugs and alcohol to mask it. See Britney Spears. She needs to be checked for manic depression, bipolar disorder, or some other chemical imbalance of the brain. This what too much of success does to people, it’s like a horrific virus once it hits you, you are finished and slowly all of these maniacs get lost in world that’s eating them up on their own will. Until yes you fight back that eject that virus out and that’s exactly what Amy should be aiming to do.

A musician, not a celebrity – Aaron Lewis.

Posted by Sam on 24th August 2007 in Country Music, Flash News, Music, Music Bands, Rock, Singers

aaron-lewis.jpg

Aaron Lewis is determined not to be what you expect. The front man of the band Staind is a bass fishing, camouflage wearing, pickup truck driving, country music and talk radio fan. And, as Lewis has often said, he’s a “musician, not an entertainer.” Yes, I heard this over and over again and each musician who starts new of the block wants to be creative and looks to make ground breaking music like never before and some of them do manage to achieve super music and greatness, but that’s the point where things start spiraling out of control, they think the world is their play ground and it’s a carnival life they are living now. The start to make trash music that’s painful to the ears of the listener and they become mere celebrities who once were looking to do something out of the league. Out of every 10 musicians I would say just 3 musicians could ever continue to pursue what had initially set out their goal to achieve. I hope these artists if they ever read my words, do not feel themselves at a new low.
