John Lennon Sucks

Posted by Sam on 29th December 2008 in Beatles, John Lennon, Singers, Songs

For $40,000, you can hear a wasted John Lennon sing about sucking nipples. There was a recent auction at the auction house Bonham’s which sold Lennon’s outtake of the 1973 song ‘Just Because’ to the highest bidder. According to the NY Post, on the track, you hear the former Beatle slue “I wanna take all them new singers, Carol and the other one with the nipples, I wanna take ‘em and hold ‘em tight, all them people that James Taylor had… I wanna suck your nipples, baby!” I’m guessing that Carol is Carole King and the so called other one with the nipples is Carly Simon.

Paul McCartney to release unheard Beatles songs

Posted by Sam on 17th November 2008 in Beatles, Paul McCartney, Singers, Songs

Paul McCartney says that he has with him in a collection, old Beatles songs that have never been released or heard before. He says the reason why they weren’t release earlier is that other members of the band thought that the experimental track ‘Carnival of Light’ was way to adventurous.

But he know considers that the public will appreciate that track and is planning to seek the permission of Ringo, the only other surviving Beatle, George’s widow Olivia & John’s widow Yoko Ono to release the 1967 record.

Paul told BBC Radio 4 “I said to the guys, this is a bit indulgent, but would you mind giving me 10 minutes? All I want you to do is just wander round all the stuff and bang it, shout, play it. Then we put a bit of echo on it. It’s very free.”

Well certainly the public would love to hear something that the Beatles as a band found indulgent. But these things come in installments, like every few years there is a noise of some unreleased, unheard Beatles composition waiting to be heard after so many years.

The All-American Rejects Premiere New Video

Posted by Sam on 9th November 2008 in All-American Rejects, Music Video, Songs

The All-American Rejects have just premiered the video for explosive single “Gives You Hell” on Yahoo! Music. Directed by Marc Webb (Maroon 5, Fergie), the video was described by the band as a neighborly quarrel between two completely opposite households, the square versus the raucous rockers, both of which have front-man Tyson Ritter as the head of the house. The trials and tribulations between the Rockers and the Preps unfold as the video progresses with an unexpected ending.

For more Rejects fun, fans can now put their faces on Tyson, Nick, Chris and Mike at allamericanrejects.com/givesyouhell/! When The World Comes Down will be in stores December 16th.

Oasis changed album title because of Geri Halliwell

Posted by Sam on 4th July 2008 in Album Release, Oasis, Singers, Songs

Oasis changed the title of their new album after realising it shared its name with a Geri Halliwell song. The rockers’ forthcoming seventh studio LP was originally due to be called ‘Bag It Up’ until Noel Gallagher’s long-term girlfriend realized she had heard the title before.

The guitarist revealed: “My girlfriend said, ‘Bag It Up’, isn’t that a song by Geri Halliwell?’ I was like, ‘You’ve ruined my entire f***ing year.’”

Noel also revealed the band can’t remember some of the songs they recorded in the sessions for the album, which is now titled ‘Dig Out Your Soul’.

He explained: “I was doing the Electric Proms with The Coral, who had recorded at my studio. They’d had a sneaky listen to our new stuff so singer James Skelly asks me, ‘Are you going to do ‘Soldier On’? I don’t remember it. Turns out Andy Bell recorded it with Liam – but Liam still doesn’t remember it.”

The band recently recruited Robbie Williams’ former drummer Chris Sharrock – and Noel admits he couldn’t resist the chance to hire his rival’s former employee. Noel said: “It was too much of a temptation to p**s Robbie and Liam off in one phone call.”

Scarlett Johansson is Snow White

Posted by Sam on 9th April 2008 in David Bowie, Debut Album, Records Sale, Scarlett Johansson, Songs

scarlett-johansson-album-cover.jpg

The album cover for Scarlett Johansson’s debut album ‘Anywhere I Lay My Head’ has been released and it’s quite obvious that someone got inspired by Snow White. The album which consists almost entirely of Tom Waits covers, with one original song called ‘Song for Jo’ which serves as the album’s centerpiece will hit stores on May 20m Tuesday. Two tracks – ‘Falling Down’ and ‘Fannin’ Street’ feature the guest vocal styling of David Bowie while members of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Celebration and Stars like Fleas play on the album which was produced by Dave Sitek. That’s a lot of star power in one album!

Kelly Clarkson Gets Bad Review

kelly-clarkson.jpg

Kelly Clarkson recently had a concert in the UK and one might think that after reading the reviews of her concert earlier this week that you were reading a review of Avril Lavigne’s concert. The American Idol alum got slammed for her performances on the songs from her flop of a third album, the ill-advised rock album ‘My December’, but was praised pretty well for her bona fide hits in ‘Breakaway’ and ‘Since U Been Gone’. The poor thing needs a new album of good material out. We can’t let ‘My December’ follow her forever or she’ll get completely destroyed!
