Sir Elton John has offered fans a refund for his cancelled UK concerts after they could not be rescheduled.
Sir Elton, 62, had to cancel dates in Sheffield, Newcastle, London and Liverpool after he was struck down with flu and E.coli.
His promoter said: “Sadly, due to venue availability and the scale of the Red Piano show, these shows cannot be rescheduled and have now been cancelled.”
A spokesperson for Marshall Arts added that Sir Elton was ‘terribly disappointed’ at the news.
He said: “Elton has been overwhelmed by the tremendous loyalty and messages of support he has received from his fans in the UK.”
Those fans with tickets will now receive a refund for the full face value of their tickets and should contact the point where they purchased them from.
Britney Spears is tapping into some Australian model talent – but for her songs, not her look.
Spears has been in touch with songwriting twins and models Olivia and Miriam Nervo, who are billed as an emerging international pop act.
Spears has asked the Nervo Sisters to write some new material for her following the success of their work overseas. The pair have written a song that topped the British charts last month, the catchy When Love Takes Over. The song was performed by David Guetta and former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland.
Spears considered the Nervo Sisters’ work in the past, but did not include the track she eyed
on her album. Olivia Nervo has had a local hit titled Boob Job.
The band that is currently opening for Oasis’ tour this Summer in the UK wants the headlining of the concerts to be the other way around. The Enemy’s front man, Tom Clarke, expressed the band’s point of view: “I don’t think Noel needs to do it any more. He’s doing it for the love of it. That’s the dream. That’s when you can say you’ve made it.” And of course, when the bigger band’s guitarist is doing it all just because he loves it, then it means The Enemy should be headlining. Interesting theory on Tom Clarke’s behalf… I can’t wait to hear what Oasis has to say about it, especially considering Liam Gallagher’s extraordinarily patient and understanding nature.
GREEN DAY LAUNCH FIRST NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN OVER THREE YEARS!
MULTI-PLATINUM BAND HIT THE ROAD IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM, 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN, TO BE RELEASED WORLDWIDE ON FRIDAY, MAY 15TH, 2009
April 20, 2009 — Burbank, CA — Reprise Records’ Grammy®Award winning rock band Green Day have announced that they will hit the road for their first proper tour of the United States and Canada in more than three years beginning July 3rd in Seattle, WA. The first leg of the tour will cross North America through the summer and finish up with two shows in Los Angeles on August 26th.
Green Day are touring in support of their long-awaited eighth studio album 21st Century Breakdown, which will be released globally by Reprise Records on Friday, May 15th, 2009. Singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool have been at work writing, arranging, and recording 21st Century Breakdown since early 2006 with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). The first single, “Know Your Enemy” was released to radio and digital retailers on April 16th.
Green Day recently performed 21st Century Breakdown in its entirety during a series of warm-up club shows for hometown fans in the Bay Area. In its review of a show at Oakland’s Fox Theater, Rolling Stone commented that the band, augmented by guitarists Jason White and Jeff Matika, and keyboardist Jason Freese, had the “Quadrophenia-like hang of 21st Century Breakdown’s classic rock melodies and lifetime-punk drive down solid” and that the album is “rock opera in which the rock always comes first.” “21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s best album,” the reviewer concluded, “and at the Fox, they proved that the rock opera can be as punk as a Clash 45.”
21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s first studio album since 2004’s two-time Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera American Idiot, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, and went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide.

Cheetah Girls member Adrienne Bailon has a new song on the soundtrack of ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ and I’m surprised to say that I actually like it. I mean really like it. The title of the song is ‘Big Spender’ and it’s a great dance/pop song. The production is top notch and the song is instantly catchy. It kind of reminds me of the golden days of Janet Jackson. Yes, I think it really is that good. I wonder if Adrienne is going to go solo from now on or if this is just one little side project away from the Cheetah Girls.

Andy Samberg took the lead in another great SNL Digital Short entitled ‘J—In My Pants’. He reunites with Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, fellow members from sketch comedy group Lonely Island. Former ‘Las Vegas’ actress Molly Sims and former ‘Sopranos’ star Jamie-Lynn Sigler made cameos as the hot girls. Justin Timberlake was also called in to o clean up on aisle 3. I wonder if Justin helped with the lyrics to the song. Here’s a sample: “Don’t tell your friends or I’ll say your a s—/Plus it’s your fault, you were rubbing my butt/I’m very sensitive, some would say that’s a plus/Now I’ll go home and change/The next day my alarm goes off and I/J— IN MY PANTS/Open my window and a breeze rolls in and I/J— IN MY PANTS/When Bruce Willis was dead at the end of Sixth Sense I/J—ED IN MY PANTSâ€.

Some crazy stuff went down at the Fashion Rocks after party at New York’s Rainbow Bar last weekend. According to reports, Justin Timberlake had to dive for cover and dodge punches after his bodyguard tried to grab a mobile phone off a fan who sneaked into the VIP area to snap a picture of the singer. All hell broke loose when the girl’s friends stepped in to help her and glasses flew off tables and shattered everywhere. Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Chris Brown all had to duck for cover as well. The divas were supposedly shrieking in horror as their security teams protected them from the flying debris.
