Beyonce is soon going to perform in Northern Africa for the first time and Islamic conservatives in Egypt are slamming her concert as an “insolent sex party” that threatens the country’s “social peace and stability” and encourages “vice and debauchery”. Some lawmakers are protesting the show, calling for a governmental ban on the singer’s so-called nudity concert. A Facebook campaign in support of the conservatives stand is actually at 10,000 members. The show will go on though. Beyonce will perform at the Red Sea Resort of Port Ghalib, 100 miles south of Cairo, and security will be tight to protect not only the singer but the fans as well.
It seems the singer’s performing plans have once again become trapped by the incessant ramblings of religious men. Beyonce apparently wants to embark upon a noble quest: performing in Egypt. She’s never been there before, but it doesn’t look like she’s going to be welcomed with open arms. Some Islamic conservatives think that Beyonce’s concert is a godless procession of carnal pleasures… actually, there are quite a few of them. But Byonce, brave soul that she is, will go through with her concert. Let’s see just how conservative these people are, if the show sells out, then there might just be a few extra fireworks.
I have some exciting new for all you Lady Gaga fans. Not only is the singer’s new single ‘Bad Romance’ already available on iTunes but a detailed track list for her album ‘The Fame Monster’ has been released. The list goes as ‘Bad Romance’, ‘Alejandro’, ‘Monster’, ‘Speechless’, ‘Dance in the Dark’, ‘Telephone’ featuring Beyonce’, ‘So Happy I Could Die’ and ‘Teeth’. Yes, Beyonce will be on one of the Princess of Pop’s tracks! Lady Gaga was recently filming a video for Beyonce’s ‘Video Phone’. I wonder if they filmed a video for ‘Telephone’ too. By the way, I’m having a slight chuckle at the titles of their songs.

In the October issue of O Magazine, Jay-Z discussed selling crack as a 13-year old in his run down Brooklyn neighborhood, his so-called divine intervention and his marriage to Beyonce. The rapper spoke on dealing drugs, saying “You become addicted to the feeling, the uncertainty and adrenaline and danger of that lifestyle.” Apparently, he was saved from that kind of life due to being shot at while dealing on the streets, in what he’s calling as his divine intervention. Jay-Z also talked about his youth and moving up, saying “You become addicted to the feeling, the uncertainty and adrenaline and danger of that lifestyle.”
There has been a lot of talk about celebrities making a Michael Jackson tribute album and it seems that things are finally moving along. Some of the big performers planning on recording the tribute album include the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Robbie Williams, Whitney Houston, Usher, Shaheen Jafargholi, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. According to The Daily Star, Mariah will sing ‘I’ll Be There’, Shaheen will sing ‘Ben’, Madonna will sing either ‘Beat It’ or ‘Billie Jean’, and Robbie is lined up to sing ‘Man in the Mirror’. The album can prove to either be a success or just one big mess.

Beyonce is mad and she’s waving a lawsuit in the air to prove it. The singer is going after a couple of unknown suspects for hawking bootlegged goods outside her concerts. Er, how is that going to work if she doesn’t know who to sue exactly? Beyonce filed the lawsuit in New York, against John Does, to stop selling knock off CDs and merchandise, especially outside her Madison Square Garden concert. Yeah, good luck with that. You would think that she would just be smart about it and have extra security to check every suspicious looking guy instead of suing people she doesn’t even know the names of.

According to the London Paper, Beyonce recently had a bit of a scare during the after-party for the London stop of her ‘I Am…’ tour when a fan managed to infiltrate security and get backstage. A witness said “A man barged through the backstage door just as Beyonce was walking past. He cried out her name with his arms outstretched before security bundled him back out again. He said he wanted [just] to see Jay-Z to give him a demo tape.” The crazy things people do when they want to get famous. Oh well, the guy just got his few minutes of fame with this one.
Beyoncé has revealed there was more hype around her performance on The X Factor than when she performed at President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
The 27-year-old singer sung some of her tracks on the British talent show before performing a duet with contestant Alexandra Burke, who went on to win the show.
Talking about her performance on The X Factor, she said: “The day after I performed, I’ve literally never had so many people say they watched me. Every single person I met said: ‘I saw you on The X Factor.’ And I was like: ‘This is weird.’
She added: “Even appearing at the inauguration of our President wasn’t the same.”
Beyoncé also performed at this year’s Oscars ceremony but she said she was more nervous for her performance at Obama’s inauguration.
She said: “I have to say the inauguration was more nerve-wracking than the Oscars.”
She added: “I was nervous at the Oscars as well, especially all that choreography and all those songs squished into the five minutes, but you know it’s nothing like the inauguration.”
“That was just… mind-blowing… Everyone could feel it, it was something spiritual.”
It was earlier reported that Beyonce skipped out on an exclusive museum tour to go shopping and instead sent a lookalike to the museum in her place. The singer wasn’t being a diva though as a radio station in Vienna had arranged for the private tour of the Albertina art museum as a prank. The station sent the Beyonce lookalike to the museum as part of an elaborate on-air bit that ended up crashing and burning the minute museum employees realized they had been set up. The radio station manager said “We’ll call the Albertina to say we meant no harm. It was a great museum tour.”

Beyonce must have Oscar envy because the singer and actress decided to don a gold print on black creation at the 2009 Academy Awards this past Sunday. The dress was curve enhancing and showed off her body beautifully. Other than that, it was pretty boring. I expected more from her considering her fashion is pretty over the top when it comes to fabulous on most days. The sad part, her mom Tina Knowles made this dress. I know how big Beyonce is on family but this is the Oscars we’re talking about. She should have gone with a more notable designer instead of her mom if she wanted to be on the best dressed list.

EW has a new movie still of Beyonce from her upcoming movie ‘Obsessed’ which is due out on April 24. The director of the film, Steve Shill, said that he did some research for the film saying “We did look at girl fights on YouTube. There’s a lot of hair pulling, shouting, and rolling around on the ground. We didn’t really want to do that.†The film is about the successful career of asset manager Derek (Idris Elba), his beautiful wife Beth (Beyonce) and their son. They are put in jeopardy when temp worker Lisa (Ali Larter) starts to stalk Derek.
TRL held its final show inside the MTV Times Square studio in New York City. The finale of the show was called Total Finale Live and was hosted by TRL’s original host Carson Daly along with Damien Fahey. The show also featured performances from some of the most notable names from the past decade including Beyonce, Fall Out Boy, 50 Cent and the Backstreet Boys. Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, JC Chasez, Taylor Swift, Kid Rock, Hilary Duff, Diddy and more were also at the studio in support of the finale.
It has recently been announced that Beyonce will be performing at the 2008 American Music Awards. This marks the third time that the singer will be performing on the AMAs. Beyonce is the latest addition to the already stellar list of previously announced performers which include Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, Mariah Carey, Coldplay, New Kids on the Block, Pussycat Dolls, Pink, The Fray and Annie Lennox. Annie will also receive the special Award of Merit. I wonder what type of tribute they will be making for her. The AMAs will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre in LA live on Sunday, November 23 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
Beyonce impressed a lot of people with her fine figure and spectacular dance moves in her latest ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’ music video. Apart from being impressive, the video also happens to be tranny friendly. It’s being said that one of the two “ladies†that Beyonce was dancing with could actually be a guy. Bossip reports that the “chocolate chick†could actually be one of the choreographers for the video, Jaquel Knight, in drag. Well, they certainly got me fooled. I can’t believe there’s a tranny in the video! They are so sneaky! If I didn’t find out about this, I would have never really thought about it even after watching the video many times over.

Some crazy stuff went down at the Fashion Rocks after party at New York’s Rainbow Bar last weekend. According to reports, Justin Timberlake had to dive for cover and dodge punches after his bodyguard tried to grab a mobile phone off a fan who sneaked into the VIP area to snap a picture of the singer. All hell broke loose when the girl’s friends stepped in to help her and glasses flew off tables and shattered everywhere. Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Chris Brown all had to duck for cover as well. The divas were supposedly shrieking in horror as their security teams protected them from the flying debris.
