Madonna Writes to the Queen of England

Madonna is directing her second film ‘W.E.’ which involves the 1936 scandal involving Edward VIII and the twice-divorced American socialite Wallis Simpson. The Queen of Pop has written to the Queen of England for permission to shoot on location on Royal grounds. One of the singer’s associates said “Madonna is keen to make the film as authentic as possible and would be very grateful if we are allowed to film at certain locations. She loves the UK and holds your Queen in the highest regard.” She shouldn’t hold her breath though as a royal courtier said “I can’t imagine that Her Majesty would make an exception, particularly for a film about Wallis Simpson.”

Sources are saying that Mariah Carey and Vanessa Hudgens are in talks to star in a new film as a mother-daughter singing duo trying out for a reality singing competition show, like American Idol. The details haven’t been ironed out yet but an insider says that the role would require the 39-year old curvaceous singer to accept that she is old enough to conceivably have a teenage daughter. As the source explains “She’s a little sensitive when it comes to her age.” And besides, Mariah recently proved with ‘Precious’ that she can be a serious actress. Why would she agree to be part of a movie that sounds like ‘Glitter’ meets ‘Band Slam’ in what would be two hours of our lives getting lost?

Michael Jackson Film Disappoints

After being hyped to the extreme, the Michael Jackson documentary ‘This is It’ has shaped up to be a disappointment. The late singer’s film made $20.7 million over the Halloween weekend, which was much less than Sony had expected. Execs apparently thought that the initial talk of sold-out screenings during the pre-sale has kept fans from turning out to see the movie. I guess they were way off the mark when they calculated the public interest. Perhaps all the hype surrounding the King of Pop is dying down. It should serve as a lesson to all those money-hungry people who want to get a free ride off it.

Michael Jackson is about to double his net worth by the end of the year with earning close to $200 million dollars in 2009. And there are still a couple of months to go before the end of the year! The rise in the funds for the singer’s trust will be a result of the dozens of merchandise ventures of the last few weeks as well as the upcoming film project that was recently approved. A brand new song will also be released to go along with the film. It is also being said that there are about 60 completed recordings that can find its way to new albums down the road. The King of Pop lives on!
