It seems that the pop star has decided to take her new adopted daughter back to Malawi to meet her biological father. Moreover, Madonna also wants to give Mercy a chance to bond with her dad. A source said the following about Madonna’s decision: “Madonna wants Mercy to learn all about her culture and the community where she was born. She realises her kids need a sense of home and she’s determined to do all she can to give that to them. She doesn’t want to deny Mercy anything in life – and that includes meeting her dad if that’s possible.” Apparently the man was against the adoption from the get go… is Madonna really doing this as a sort of “in your face” thing or because her guy-toy boyfriend isn’t really a suficient father figure for Mercy at this time?
Madonna has finally won damages from a British newspaper for publishing pictures of her wedding to Guy Ritchie. Though the exact amount of the money that the singer collected was not disclosed, in her initial arguments, the Queen of Pop demanded anything in excess of $8 million. The pictures that were published were actually stolen from her California home. There’s no word yet if she will be splitting the money with Guy. I would imagine that it’s highly unlikely though. Why anyone would screw with Madonna, I don’t know. I’m just glad that I can laugh at them for thinking they could actually get away with it.

When your mom happens to be the Queen of Pop, I doubt that you’re not going to want a piece of that pie. That’s why we can’t be surprised when Madonna gave details on daughter Lourdes Leon and her very ambitious entertainment career aspirations. In a recent interview, the singer talked about Lola’s cameo in her ‘Celebration’ video, following her footsteps and accepting Lola’s decision regarding her career path. Madonna said “I’m fine with it, as long as she finishes school, and takes it seriously. She also plays piano, and she’s really into clothes and fashion and style. She can go in any direction. She’s got a lot of diverse interests right now. We’ll see. I’m not pushing anything. We’ll see what she wants to do.” Madonna also said that she thinks Lola wants to be more of an actress rather than a singer.

There has been a lot of talk about celebrities making a Michael Jackson tribute album and it seems that things are finally moving along. Some of the big performers planning on recording the tribute album include the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Robbie Williams, Whitney Houston, Usher, Shaheen Jafargholi, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. According to The Daily Star, Mariah will sing ‘I’ll Be There’, Shaheen will sing ‘Ben’, Madonna will sing either ‘Beat It’ or ‘Billie Jean’, and Robbie is lined up to sing ‘Man in the Mirror’. The album can prove to either be a success or just one big mess.

Michael Jackson’s highly anticipated ‘This is It’ spectacular which was set to go down at London’s O2 Arena will now continue as a tribute show. A-list performers are expected to appear and replicate what was planned for the late King of Pop’s shows. It has been rumored that Madonna will be taking the stage as the singer was set to make a surprise appearance during Michael’s run at the O2 Arena. According to a tour organizer, one performance is set to take place in September but a decision on where the show will take place has not been made yet. It is being said that the likeliest place will be LA though. I wonder who else will take part in it.
The famous pop singer, along with others from the business, have been hit by a wave of sadness after hearing about the tragic loss that occurred recently. Madonna is quoted to have said the following about Michael Jackson’s death: “I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.” Others have also expressed their sympathies and deepest regrets: Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Elton John… everybody really misses the pop wonder. Everybody seems to have lost an important source of plagiarism… erm, I mean inspiration with Michael Jackson’s death.
The new Princess of Pop, Lady Gaga has just unleashed a masterpiece upon us. With the help of director Jonas Akerlund, who has directed Madonna, Prodigy and others, the music video for the singer’s latest UK single ‘Paparazzi’ is easily the best music video of the year. I think it’s her strongest work to date. It’s almost like a film really. It’s really artsy and visually orgasmic. It is brilliant and I am not exaggerating at all. Everybody is going to be talking about this video and everyone is going to love it whether they are a fan of Lady Gaga or not.

Madonna’s extended schedule for her Sticky & Sweet tour has finally been revealed with Paul Oakenfold opening all her shows. The tour will kick off starting July 4th in London and stops will include appearances in never before played markets such as Werchter Belgium, Marseille France, Hamburg Germany, Oslo Norway, Helsinki Finland, Tallinn Estonia, Ljubljana Slovenia as well as stops in Romania, Hungary, Belgrade Serbia and Bulgaria. Madonna will also be returning to places like Madrid, Gothenburg and Munich after 15 years. The Queen of Pop said “This is a first for me. I’ve never extended a tour before. I’m excited to be going back on the road, visiting places I’ve never been and returning to places I love.â€
Madonna has performs a miracle by bringing together Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake – not in a romantic manner though. The Queen of Pop got two of pop’s biggest names to perform with her at Dodger Stadium for her Sticky & Sweet tour last Thursday night. Britney Spears performed with Madonna on ‘Human Nature’ while Justin sang on ‘4 Minutes – To Save the World’. Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Fergie, Heidi Klum, Isla Fisher, Dennis Quaid, Ryan Seacrest, Kate Walsh, Kate Moss, Hayden Panettiere, Lucy Liu and Amanda Bynes were just some of the celebrities who were spotted in the audience to witness the momentous event.
Madonna recently had a performance at Wembley Stadium in London, England as part of her Sticky and Sweet Tour. Despite the performance Madonna still got crucified as the 50-year old Queen of Pop started her show 40 minutes late and thus stranded a lot of people who missed the train. Additionally, many speakers in the stadium were apparently not working which had concert-goers storm out in disgust. One person said “I have been a Madonna fan for over 25 years and have gone to all her concerts but the one in London last night was an absolute disgrace.†Let’s hope that Madonna can make it up to her fans somehow.
A collection of 300 of Madonna’s most memorable outfits are going on display next year in a new exhibition. I am so there! Among many things, the show will feature her ‘Like a Virgin’ tour wedding gown and the pink dress she wore in the ‘Material Girl’ video. The items are in a private collection that belongs to Marquee Capital, a celebrity memorabilia investment company. They’re also expected to auction off the pieces following the show. The curator of the exhibition at the Old Truman Brewery in London said “his is an unprecedented collection of Madonna memorabilia that represents every stage of her glittering career. These are museum-quality pieces but they will be presented in keeping with the glamour and sense of theatre that the Queen of Pop has made her trademark.†The exhibition ‘Simply Madonna, Materials of the Girl’ opens in February.
Madonna has set yet another city on fire on 28th August 2008. This time it was Berlin and the audience went mad during her performance.
Entertaining the fans at a sold out concert in Berlin during her “Sticky and Sweet†world tour, the show involved eight costume changes, sixteen dancers and $1.85 million worth of Swarovski crystals.
The string of her shows includes her performances in London, Paris and North America, before terminating on 18th December 2008 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Material Girl has also added a medical doctor Steven Margolin on her entourage to keep her relaxed and functional. When asked, an insider told, “It’s (tour) going to be very draining and she needs him around to aid her in her recovery time after each show. She’ll have daily massages to relax her.â€

Costume designs for the Queen of Pop’s tour have hit the web. Madonna has once again teamed up with designer Arianne Phillips whom she’s worked with for about 11 years. Phillips told Women’s Wear Daily that the new tour was a challenge saying “Normally we prep in April and May, and open in June. This time, the tour begins in August. It’s a nightmare. Everyone in Italy and France is on a beach sunning themselves.†She also revealed “Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci designed two outfits and Tom Ford provided bespoke suits for the band. Three pairs of shoes have been custom-made by Miu Miu, there are thigh-high boots courtesy of Stella McCartney, sunglasses from Moschino, and other outfits and odds and ends from Yves Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, and Jeremy Scott.â€
