Leona Lewis is Sexiest Vegetarian

Posted by Sam on 29th June 2009 in Leona Lewis, X Factor

Leona Lewis has been crowned the Sexiest Vegetarian by PETA for the second year in a row. The X-Factor winner has been living the greens only lifestyle since the age of 12 and holds to the belief that animals aren’t ours to wear. The singer, who also happens to be working on a vegan clothing line, said “I am vegetarian so I don’t have clothes, shoes or bags made from leather or suede or any animal products. … I’m on a mission.” Now she is a true role model for everyone to look up to. She’s got beauty, talent, brains and she won’t give up her beliefs for anyone.

Pink Talks Kanye West

In the July issue of FHM Australia, Pink takes a couple of digs at rapper Kanye West. The pop rocker said “Kanye West is the person pissing me off right now. I was at Stella McCartney’s Paris fashion show with the vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Paul McCartney and Kanye West. The entire time Kanye is going, ‘They need more fur in this show’. He just wouldn’t shut up about how he loved fur. I mean, he’s saying this to me, the PETA guy and Paul McCartney! I was just so grossed out by him. I’m like, ‘You’re an idiot!’ There are so many people who I think are a waste of skin and he’s up there. I should wear him. Go on, donate yourself Kanye. People can wear your fur.”

Pet Shop Boys asked to for name change:

Posted by Sam on 13th April 2009 in Music Bands, Pet Shop Boys

The band has recently been asked by the infamous PETA to change their name to something that would encourage much more friendly behavior towards animals. PETA supposedly asked Pet Shop Boys to change their name to Rescue Shelter Boys. A statement was written on the band’s official website: “PETA has written to the Pet Shop Boys with a request they are unable to agree to but nonetheless think raises an issue worth thinking about.” I bet whoever wrote that just said it so that PETA would lay low at least for a little while longer. What would the point of Pet Shop Boys changing their name anyway? Does PETA actually think that the band’s name encourages the purchasing of animals from pet shops?
