Michael Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray could be charged with manslaughter in next two weeks

Michael Jackson’s doctor is expected to be charged with manslaughter within the next two weeks, according to a US report.

A law enforcement source had told Foxnews.com that Dr Conrad Murray is set to be arrested and charged within the next 14 days.

The news comes just a day after Murray posted a one-minute video online insisting: “I told the truth and I have faith the truth will prevail.”

The source initially told Fox that Dr Murray could be arrested as soon as August 26.

But investigators have now reportedly decided to execute one more search warrant, likely at a Los Angeles pharmacy, next week in an attempt to gather more evidence against him and the arrest is now expected the following week. They have searched Murray’s offices in Houston.

And Murray is not the only doctor who faces criminal charges in connection with Jackson’s shock death on June 25. A law enforcement source told FOXNews.com that Jackson’s long-time dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, will also be hit with charges related to medical malpractice.

Investigators are still building their case against Klein, and he will not be arrested for at least another two weeks, the source said.

However Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, denied that prosecutors had decided to charge Jackson’s physicians.

She insisted: “Until police complete their investigation and bring it to our office, there is no way to know what charges may be filed and against whom.”

Law enforcement sources previously revealed that Murray admitted he gave the King of Pop the intravenous anaesthetic Propofol to help him sleep just hours before his death – and that Propofol was at least a contributing factor in the 50-year-old entertainer’s death.

Propofol stash found in doctor’s closet

Conrad Murray, live-in physician to Michael Jackson, kept a stash of the powerful anaesthetic Propofol in a closet in Michael Jackson’s home, a report claims.

The drug is the smoking gun in the case building against Murray, which has been labelled a manslaughter investigation, even though no charges have been laid. Propofol could well be the pivot point in the minds of prosecutors.

Law enforcement sources said three large bottles and five vials of the anaesthetic were discovered at the Jackson house.

The drugs were found in the closet attached to Murray’s bedroom. Murray is said to have administered the drug in the bedroom where Jackson was later discovered to have arrested.

He may also have kept the drug elsewhere and had a steady stream of Fedex deliveries of it, the report claims.

Another Michael Jackson Doctor Subpoenaed

Dr. Allan Metzger, who was previously reprimanded for prescribing drugs to Janet Jackson using several aliases, recently turned over medical files associated with Michael Jackson per the LA County Coroner’s office. The doctor said that he last spoke with the late singer in April, regarding the King of Pop’s upcoming tour and that he had not treated Michael in ages. However, Dr. Metzger’s lawyer claims that the physician recently visited Michael’s home, where the singer specifically asked about using Propofol at home. Supposedly, the doctor advised against it and recorded notes about the meeting in Michael’s medical chart. There goes his excuse of not being his doctor.

Dr Conrad Murray has fled from California, according to reports

Michael Jackson’s private doctor has reportedly fled from California following questioning from the LAPD.

Dr Conrad Murray is in Houston, Texas where he has a medical practice, TMZ claims.

According to the entertainment website, evidence is beginning to mount against Murray as LAPD detectives continue their investigation.

TMZ claims that evidence suggests that the anesthesia Propofol was the primary cause of Jackson’s death and Dr Murray is believed to be the man who administered it.

The results from Michael Jackson’s autopsy report will take longer than first expected say the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

The office had previously claimed that the full report would be available this week or early next week.

But Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter revealed Thursday that results will now not be known for a further two weeks.

The toxicology report should be able to determine what drugs were in Jackson’s body when he died and if they caused his death.

Jackson died from a cardiac arrest at his home in the Holmby Hills on June 25.
