Rapper J-Kwon was recently reported missing but thankfully, he contacted his label Gracie Entertainment as soon as he heard about it. J-Kwon declined to make an official statement but the co-CEO spoke in behalf of the rapper and said “I am very happy to let everyone know that I personally spoke with J-Kwon today, and he is okay. He’d like to send a sincere apology to his friends and everyone who showed concern this week. He was taking some time to himself as he sometimes does, not realizing that people would start to worry after a while. A few days out of touch versus a month is quite a difference. Right now he just wants to keep doing what he’s doing, and will be more available for those who care about him. We thank you again for your outreach, and we are relieved to know he’ll be alright.” It’s good to know that he’s safe and sound.

Jay-Z’s Security Shoves Fan Off Stage

Jay-Z’s security team made quick work of a stage crasher during the rapper’s concert in Washington DC last week by bull rushing the guy off of the stage before the fan even knew what hit him. Jay and Memphis Bleek were in the middle of a performance when everything went down and continued rapping as their bodyguard sent the stage crasher flying off. A security guard on the ground tried to catch the guy but both just ended up taking a nasty fall. Here’s to hoping that no one ends up getting slapped with a lawsuit. Though the guards were in the right by getting him off the stage, I’m just not sure if brute force was the best way.

DMX Does Gospel

DMX is putting on a gospel rap extravaganza at his church this weekend. It has been reported that the often incarcerated rapper agreed to perform at the Morning Star Sanctified Church for a fundraiser tomorrow and he’s doing it for free. According to Pastor Barbara King, DMX and his family have been members of the congregation for eight months now and he really wanted to help raise money for repairs. DMX said “This is an opportunity for me to use my gifts to benefit a good cause. My music offers hope! God has been good to me!” Tickets are selling from $35 to $40.

Nas has a Lot of Money Problems

Nas needs a big reality check as he’s trying to win back his estranged wife Kelis, despite the fact that she’s suing him over child support, and now he owes the IRS a huge sum of money. The rapper got slapped with a tax lien back in October for $2,584,206.31. Now, according to court documents, the bill has ballooned to $3,365,671.26. Last week, Nas was ordered to pay Kelis $200,000 in back child and spousal support. One source says Nas doesn’t have a clue he’s going under financially and doesn’t understand that he can go to jail if he doesn’t pay child support. Nas has also been sending Kelis a ton of emails telling her how much he wants her back. Bad news is that the singer has a new boyfriend and really wants that divorce.

Jay-Z Wants Lily Allen

Jay-Z apparently wants to collaborate with British train wreck of a singer Lily Allen. The rapper recently spoke with BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat and told the media that he plans to collaborate with the drunkard for the Wireless Festival. Jay-Z said “I spoke to Lily Allen. I’m trying to get her for Wireless. Hopefully that goes through. I bum-rushed them in the corner where they can’t say no. I know her for a minute (sic). I think she’s a great artist. I respect her. We just haven’t (collaborated) yet.” I like Jay-Z’s music but I am completely uninterested if ever he does partner up with Lily.

Brandy’s New Man

Brandy reportedly has a new man in her life. Sources say that the washed up R&B singer was recently seen spending time with rapper Flo Rida in Las Vegas and were getting pretty cozy. I wonder how those two came to know each other. I don’t really think they run in the same circles. One source even said that they were definitely hooking up. I wonder if that also applies in the studio too. Brandy sure could help resurrecting her career and Flo Rida has been giving a lot of people jumps in their careers. Ke$ha can preach about that.

TI Goes Halfway

Rapper TI was released from prison in Arkansas last week after serving seven months behind bars. The rapper’s lawyer said that he will be spending the rest of his sentence living in a halfway house. TI, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was sentenced to 366 days in the Forrest City penitentiary earlier this year after he was arrested in 2007 for sending his bodyguard out to buy machine guns and silencers. TI will be living in a halfway house in Georgia for the next three months. Once he completes his sentence, the rapper still has to complete 500 hours of community service and 23 days of house arrest.

Kid Cudi Arrested and Released

Kid Cudi was handcuffed after an intense police manhunt that spanned the air and ground earlier this week. Unfortunately, they picked up the wrong guy. It all went down in Hollywood when a police helicopter unit spotted a vehicle that matched the description of a car used in a burglary. The vehicle they spotted was occupied by the rapper and his crew. A fleet of officers immediately swarmed in on the rapper’s ride and began detaining passengers. While no arrests were made, at least one member of his entourage was placed in the back of a cop car. Ultimately, cops determined they got the wrong guys and released everybody.

Nas Busted

Nas was busted for a DUI near his home in Georgia this past September and it seems that the rapper was under the influence of marijuana. I’m not exactly surprised about the news. According to the police report, “Mr. Jones had a green tongue with raised taste buds and his pulse was raised to 116 beats per minute.” And not only did the car smell like “raw marijuana” but police observed “eyelid tremors in both eyes and body tremors.” Nas was so far gone that he failed the walking sobriety test by taking the wrong number of steps and he even admitted to smoking weed at his friend’s house before he hit the road.

Pitbull Lawsuit

Pitbull’s song ‘Hotel Room Service’ is a pretty popular song but I’m not sure if the acoustics are so important that the rapper would allegedly bail on a gig if you don’t have the right sound equipment. According to a new lawsuit filed by the El Potrero Night Club in Cudahy, California, Pitbull got paid $28,000 for a concert back in May 14. The owners of the club say that the rapper showed up on the day of the gig and complained about the sound equipment and then left four hours before he was supposed to go on. The owners of the club say that Pitbull went off with the money and claims that there was a total loss of $80,000 from the last minute cancellation.

DMX Lawsuit

DMX is currently facing a lawsuit for a million dollars brought on to him by Thunder Productions for pulling out of a highly publicized boxing match with actor Eric Martinez. The rapper cancelled earlier this month when the promotion company refused to honor the clause in his contract which stated “Event Promoter and Management agree that (DMX) is scheduled to win Boxing Challenge.” In the meantime, Thunder Productions have found a replacement for DMX in the December 12th fight – his fellow washed up rapper, Coolio. Are people seriously paying to watch this thing? It is so much like a rip off to me.

Lil Wayne is a Dad Again

Two months ago, actress Lauren London gave birth to rapper Lil Wayne’s third child, Lennox Samuel Ari. Now, R&B singer Nivea joins the ranks of being one of his baby mamas. Nivea gave birth to their son last week. The father missed the birth though as he was in Atlanta for a prior engagement. Can you say deadbeat? Nivea has 3 other kids from her previous relationship with The Dream, who recently married singer Christina Milian, who also happens to be pregnant. As for Lil Wayne, his new son with Nivea is his fourth child and all of his kids have different mothers.

Jay-Z Signs the Ting Tings

The Ting Tings are set to begin production on their sophomore album and they will be getting some very influential help. The British indie band has just signed on to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label, in which the famed rapper will make their follow up to ‘We Started Nothing’ something to talk about. A source said “Jay is hoping to lend his production skills to some of the new material. The Staccato rhythmic style of The Ting Tings sits well with what he does best, so that was the attraction. Jay can make them one of the biggest British bands in America.” The members of the group, Katie White and Jules de Martino, are said to be thrilled but are homesick. It will be all worth it I’m sure.

DMX Goes Crazy

DMX got into a screaming match with security when he arrived to Colorado Springs charity concert nearly one and a half hours late after security was told that he was scheduled to perform. The rapper, his bodyguards and fans eventually got into a shoving match with security in front of the stage, while the crowd, who had already been told that DMX wasn’t going to show up, began chanting for the rapper. DMX eventually got on stage but the sound system was reportedly turned off so he couldn’t perform. I think that he’s the only guy who could make a charity event into a melee.

Fergie is seen laying out in the jungle the music video for their new song ‘Meet Me Halfway’, the third official single from the Black Eyed Peas’ latest album ‘The END’. will.i.am talked about the video saying “This is a very different type of video … ‘Boom Boom Pow’ was very futuristic and ‘I Gotta Feeling’ had a party vibe, but this is more artistic video. It’s very arty.” He’s so articulate, isn’t he? Couldn’t he say anything else about the video except how arty it is and how artistic it is? It’s the same thing idiot. For a rapper, he’s not that creative.
