The Killers Talk Fan Bases

Posted by Sam on 16th June 2009 in The Killers

The Killers front man Brandon Flowers recently had an interview with Entertainment Weekly talking about the difference between their fans in Britain and in America. He said “We’ve been embraced in Britain in a way that I’ll never understand, and it’s such a wonderful thing. But over here [in America], people are still so obsessed with Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, those sorts of bands, that nobody else is allowed [to grow]. It’s not just us; there are a lot of great bands that have been held down or confined by the influence of these people that we’ve put up on pedestals. I’m tired of it, you know? I just want to knock them all off! And people don’t like that attitude. It’s almost like they don’t believe that it’s possible that anybody else can be the real deal.”

A Killers Baby

The Killers front man Brandon Flowers and his wife Tana Brooke Munblowsky are expecting! This will be the second child for the band’s lead singer and his wife, who had their first child, Ammon, back in 2007. Congratulations on the future addition to the family! I’m pretty sure that Brandon will be passing o his very adorable genes to the little one. I hope he passes on some of his talent too. Maybe the kid can serve as some inspiration too. I wonder if it’s a boy or a girl – or twins even! And does anyone have any idea when the kid’s due?

The Killers to stay together

The band’s frontman, Brandon Flowers, has denied rumors that the band may be close to a split. Brandon Flowers said: “We’re navigators. We like to try new things and it keeps us on our toes. It’s fun. I think I’ve still got a lot to learn but there’s something about performing a big show that makes it more incredible for me. We realized early on we always want to do it right and always try to do Las Vegas proud.” The Killers are navigators? Brandon Flowers has clearly been watching too much Star Trek. I wouldn’t be surprised if their upcoming album will be named with an acronym based on the word “enterprise”.

Natalie Imbruglia Makes a Killer Play

Brandon Flowers’ woman must be so happy to have such a loyal husband. On Wednesday, Australian pop star Natalie Imbruglia made a play for the front man of The Killers at one of the 2009 Brit Awards after parties. Unfortunately for her, Brandon completely ignored her advances. A source said “Nat made a beeline for Brandon, and plonked herself beside him. She took off her jacket and spun her legs towards him for a chat. But Brandon wasn’t taking any notice of her flirting.” Natalie must have been completely embarrassed after getting dogged. The very least she could have done for Brandon was get him flattered even though he’s completely uninterested.

The Killers are coming out with a new album on November 25

Brandon Flowers and the boy are back as The Killers are coming out with a new album on November 25. The band has also just dropped the disc’s first single called ‘Human’. The song is produced by Stuart Price, the same guy who did Madonna’s ‘Confessions’ album. The song features The Killers doing what they do best but with a bit more of a danceable beat. It somehow reminds me of Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’ actually. ‘Human’ should prove to do well for the band. I’m sure that radio will just eat that song up!
