David Axelrod says that the President expressed his condolences to the Jackson family. He said that Obama saw the pop star as a spectacular performer whose life had sad and tragic aspects. The President did not issue a statement immediately following the singer’s death. But then again, he is the President of the United States. I’m sure he had more pressing matters at hand. I also wonder if he is going to give some sort of honor to Michael and his family.
