Mariah Carey Sets Record

It’s been a while since we’ve heard a great song from Mariah Carey but that doesn’t mean that she hasn’t broken any musical records recently. According to her official website, the singer’s contemporary yuletide classic ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’, which happens to be the best selling holiday ringtone of all time, has now become the first holiday ringtone to cross the RIAA Double Platinum mark in recognition of sales of more than two million units. Well, if you can’t make that mark with an actual single of yours, I guess a ringtone would do. The point is that you’re still selling.

Tori Amos Christmas Album

Tori Amos has dabbled in a couple of Yuletide carols but could a full length album of holiday tunes be on the way for the artist? There has been no official word from the singer or her people but Universal Republic has listed an album titled ‘Christmas’ from Tori which is set to be released on November. That’s pretty interesting. I’m itching for any of her music. I love Tori Amos period. But then again, a full album of holiday music from her doesn’t sound very appealing to me. I guess I’ll figure things out when I hear even just a bit of that Christmas music from her.
